(Clearwisdom.net) The NTDTV Chinese New Year Spectacular has finished touring in North America, Europe and Japan and it is now coming to Australia and Taiwan. I promoted the tickets for several shows and have deep feelings about several things, which I want to share with fellow practitioners.

Promoting the tickets itself is not the purpose, because only a small percentage of people can watch the live show. How can we rescue as many people as possible in each city? My understanding is we need to create an atmosphere. Our only goal in distributing flyers in the subway, advertisements and visiting VIPs is to make more people know of the Spectacular. When I first started promoting the show at a subway station near a school, I was afraid to shout out loud until Teacher hinted to me and taught me what to say through an ordinary person. After I made the effort and shouted, I felt our voices are like Fa implements. The show itself is a blessing. We are rescuing people simply by passing on the information about the performance. We are cleansing the field at the same time as we shout. Of course, there are many ways to do it, but we must understand in our minds that no matter what we do, even if it is a mere smile, it is our Fa implement.

We must maximally believe in Teacher and Dafa. We must especially prohibit certain fixed notions from blocking us, such as "a certain type of people are most likely willing to buy tickets," or "what would other people think of me if I do this or that." Our experience tells us that many times it is us blocking ourselves. The Spectacular is the best show, and everything associated with it should also be the best and run most smoothly.

Give up the ego and melt into the Fa. Teacher is rectifying the Fa, and we should not block the process with any human notion. There were two occasions when we all felt exhausted. All of us had random thoughts that were not supposed to exist. We discussed the issue and sent forth one thought as a whole body, “The Spectacular saves all sentient beings.” The situation did not improve. We realized since this time Teacher is rectifying the Fa, all of our thoughts - including those we deem to be very compassionate - may serve as barriers due to our limited levels. We should simply give up the self and not think about anything; completely melt into the Fa and do well with what we are supposed to do. We were instantly re-energized, and the outcome of the ticket promotion was very good.

The day of the shows is usually the time the most tickets sell. The best way to promote the tickets during these days is to directly tell whoever you see how good the show is, even though they might not buy the tickets. The people’s reactions are usually unexpected under this circumstance.

Fa study and group sharing is important. The process of ticket promotion is very laborious, and we work under a time constraint. We must, however, guarantee Fa study, practice the exercises and especially hold group sharing because it will help us form a whole body. Regardless of the circumstances, we must first calm down. Many things in the ordinary society, and even different reactions that surface among practitioners, are a direct reflection of our own “xinxing.”

Teacher’s Fa kept appearing in my mind during the process of ticket promotion,

“So for the beings of the old cosmos, and this includes all the elements of beings, when it comes to the Fa-rectification and what I choose, all beings' harmonizing and completing things according to my choices and contributing their best ideas and approaches--not to change what I want, but to harmonize and complete things according to what I've said--is the best thought a being in the cosmos could have.” (“Fa-Lecture During the 2003 Lantern Festival at the U.S. West Fa Conference”)

Sometimes when we are not sure about something, we should ask ourselves with righteous thoughts, “Is this what Teacher wants?” Then we would know what to do. All in all, it is about giving up the self and truly melting into the Fa. We are a part of Teacher’s gong, and Teacher has already made arrangements for everything.

An article “To Taiwanese Practitioners: Do Not Interfere with Fa Rectification, Let Ordinary People Have the Tickets and Promote the Show in Ordinary Society” (no English translation available, the Chinese version available at http://minghui.ca/mh/articles/2007/3/7/150280.html) reminds me of what happened to an European practitioner: he traveled far, to Paris, to watch the show there, but he was asked to volunteer as a security guard during the afternoon show. He was asked to sit by the exit, but no one used the exit during the entire performance. One practitioner passing by asked him, “Why are you sitting here? No one is here; it is completely meaningless.” He felt awful. When he opened “Zhuan Falun,” the first words he saw were, “Loss and Gain.” I was touched by this story. Teacher repeatedly told us to cultivate our xinxing. We cannot do the exercises without cultivating our xinxing. Many practitioners see the Chinese New Year Spectacular as a process for cleansing themselves and for improvement, but it is also a cultivation process of giving up selfishness and attachments to loss and gain.
