(Clearwisdom.net) Since July 26, 2006, Hong Kong Falun Gong practitioners have been doing sitting meditation outside the building where the Singapore Consulate is located, for three hours from Monday to Friday every week. They protest the Singapore government for collaborating with the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) regime in the persecution of Falun Gong. They also call on the Singapore authorities to not assist the tyranny to do evil, and to immediately withdraw the unreasonable charges against eleven Falun Gong practitioners, and stop participating in the persecution of Falun Gong.

Practitioners who participate in the sit-in protest unfold banners exposing the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong and call on the Singapore authorities to stop participating in the persecution. As the location is at the center of finance, commerce and trade, the practitioners’ appeal attracts the attention of many people every day.

Falun Gong practitioner Lu Jie, who participates in this protest said that they hope the Singapore government will think about itself and the Singapore people, see clearly the CCP’s wicked nature, stand with the righteous and kind people, and never curry favor with the CCP and participate in the persecution of Falun Gong for the sake of temporary benefits. Doing so may consequently incur punishment by the heavenly principle that good will be rewarded with good, and evil with evil, and cause those who assist in wrongdoings to be buried together with the CCP when it disintegrates.

Practitioner Ms. Yang Meiyun who has been there every day said that when Hong Kong practitioners were falsely charged with "obstructing the street" by the Hong Kong authorities, we gained support from Falun Dafa practitioners around the world. We are one body, and we will persist in and continue clarifying the truth, peacefully appealing, and urging the Singapore government to stop the persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners.

The Singapore authorities brought charges against eleven local Falun Gong practitioners for distributing truth clarification materials and peacefully protesting [the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong]. Their so-called charges are "assembly without permit" and "harassment by displaying insulting writing." The second case has been scheduled to open a court trial from August 28 to September 1, 2006. The practitioners said that they will continue doing the sitting meditation to protest outside the Singapore Consulate. They hope that the Singapore government will soon stop participating in the persecution, and bring a wonderful future for the Singapore people.
