Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Jia Jianfeng, 39, from Jilin City, Jilin province, graduated from the Yanbian University School of Agronomy. He started to practice Falun Gong in 1995. In October 2000, Jia Jianfeng was sentenced to two years of forced labor because he was a practitioner. The authorities first imprisoned him at the Jilin City Huanxiling Forced Labor Camp, and he was later transferred to Yinmahe Forced Labor Camp in Jiutai city. Then, they sent him home, but he was constantly monitored. In September 2001, they again took Mr. Jia to the Yinmahe Forced Labor Camp. He was not released until October 2002.
On June 18, 2006, the Longtan District Political Bureau officers and security guards took Mr. Jia to the Jilin City Yulin Brainwashing Center. Mr. Jia refused to renounce practicing Falun Gong and went on a hunger strike to protest the brainwashing attempts. In retaliation, the Jilin City 610 Office sentenced him to 18 months in prison. An inside source disclosed that Mr. Jia was recently carried into the camp on a gurney.
