(Clearwisdom.net) Central News Agency April 27 report stated that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) regime harvested organs from live detained Falun Gong practitioners for transplant operations and then cremated their bodies to destroy the evidence. This incident has drawn the international concerns. [Taiwan President] Chen Hsui-Bian expressed today that the CCP regime should not only blindly deny or cover it up, but should look into the matter and bring suspects to justice. It should also examine its human rights record, promote political reform, and effectively put an end to the government's power abuse and human rights abuse.

He said the CCP launched a suppression campaign against Falun Gong with an excuse of it being [slanderous words omitted] organization in 1999, resulting in tens of thousands of Falun Gong practitioners being arrested and detained. Under the universal value of "freedom of religion and belief," the CCP's suppression of Falun Gong, can only make people even more detest the CCP regime's despotic rule.

Chen Hsui-Bian expressed that compared to Taiwan, under the constitution item that guarantees the freedom of religion and belief, Falun Gong in Taiwan has been quite active, and teaching of Falun Gong can be seen everywhere. The government never interferes with them. This is the biggest difference between democratic freedom and totalitarian rule.

Chen Hsui-Bian expressed that the CCP regime remained quiet for three weeks after the organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners was disclosed. Only then, three weeks later, did its Ministry of Foreign Affairs issue a denial and invite the international community to come to investigate.

He said there is not direct evidence to verify, but mounting evidence including eyewitness testimonies, the fact that the number of organ transplants in China is higher than those in other countries, the widespread taking of blood samples from detained Falun Gong practitioners, the already-known practice of the sale of organs from executed prisoners in Chinese prisons, suggest that the organ harvesting is happening.

Therefore, the president called for charges to be brought against those responsible, and for the CCP to conduct an in-depth investigation, and put the suspects on trial.

He also called upon the CCP to examine its notorious human rights records, and actively promote political reform and return the power completely to people. By doing so, can it effectively stop the power abuse and human rights abuses.
