(Clearwisdom.net) In late 2000, many Falun Gong practitioners from all over China came to Tiananmen Square where they primarily wanted to speak some heartfelt words, "Falun Dafa is good!" Many of them were arrested. Most were sent to the Tiananmen Police Department. Many others were intercepted by district police before they could reach the square and were sent to different district police departments. Many practitioners refused to tell their names and addresses at the police departments, because they would be turned over to police from the practitioners' home province or city if their addresses were revealed. Because they refused to cooperate with the police, they were savagely tortured and sent to various detention centers.

After December 20, 2000, the number of practitioners sent to detention centers suddenly increased to dozens or even over a hundred each day, whereas previously only about one dozen practitioners would be sent there. Between three to six practitioners were brought into our female cell each day. All practitioners were assigned a number. From the beginning, the police used the 26 letter English alphabet to identify each practitioner. After 26 days, they switched to a different system by using the first letter of the name of the police station from which the practitioner was sent. For example, if two practitioners were brought in by officers from the Yangfangdian Police Station they would be numbered Yang 1 and Yang 2.

Within a few days the cells were full. The guards interrogated them each day and asked for their names. They used electric batons and other forms of torture on the practitioners and also encouraged the inmates to beat the practitioners. Most of the practitioners still refused to tell their names. The guards finally stopped asking and said, "Ok, if you refuse to tell me, I'll send you to a place where you will tell."

In early 2001, groups of practitioners were sent away in big buses in the early morning every other day. An 18-year-old girl from Shandong Province shared the same cell with me. Her number was K28. One morning her number was called by mistake. She got on the bus but later returned. She said all of the practitioners were being taken to northeastern China. Later, the guards openly told us that they were sending the practitioners to northeastern China. During that period, many of them were sent there from Beijing.

After reading the reports about the Sujiatun Concentration Camp I remembered my early 2001 experience. I didn't find any further information about the practitioners who were bused to northeast China in other practitioners' articles on the Minghui website, but the detention centers that held those practitioners should have information on them. We can start by investigating the detention centers in Beijing and find the whereabouts of the practitioners who refused to tell their names and addresses.
