(Clearwisdom.net) In the Shuanqiaozi District of Chengdu City lived a family consisting of an old couple, two daughters, and one son-in-law. The elder daughter, Liu Li, was a teacher at Peace Street Primary School in Chengdu. The younger daughter, Liu Ying, used to be a kindergarten teacher in Chengdu No. 13 Infant School. The two daughters opened a shop together, working as nail artists. Son-in-law Chen Yingjun, Liu Ying's husband, was an engineer in a Chengdu factory and is now working in a private enterprise at Mozijiao. Both daughters and the son-in-law are Falun Dafa practitioners, and they all enjoyed a happy family life.
Since 1999, under the direct order of Jiang Zemin, the former Chinese Communist Party leader, the entire media of China has been used to defame Falun Dafa. Practitioners of Falun Dafa are labeled as suicides, killers, or lunatics that neglect their families. Being constantly brainwashed by the propaganda in the media, many Chinese people think Falun Dafa practitioners are either mad or seeking political power. But what is the real story?
Since its introduction to the public in 1992 by Mr. Li Hongzhi, Falun Dafa has been spread to 80 countries and regions around the world. The principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance have entered people's hearts, and brought happiness and health to countless people.
Falun Dafa and its founder have received more than 2,000 awards, instances of recognition, and supportive resolutions. The main text of Falun Dafa, Zhuan Falun, and other books by Mr. Li Hongzhi have been translated and published in more than 30 different languages.
The founder of Falun Dafa has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize four times because of consistent efforts to peacefully and rationally clarify the truth to the people in the world about the goodness of Falun Dafa and the facts of the persecution. On August 14, 2001, a representative of the International Education Development made a statement at the U.N.:
"The Chinese Communist Regime points to a supposed self-immolation incident in Tiananmen Square on January 23, 2001 as proof that Falun Gong is an '[CCP's slanderous words deleted]'. However, we have obtained a video of that incident that in our view proves that this event was staged by the government."
These facts were covered up by the Chinese Communist Party in order to continue its deceit and prevent Chinese people from finding out the truth so that the persecution could be continued. Thus, the entire system of the country, from government organizations to the Public Security Bureau, "Procurotorate" and Courts, every work unit in every area, all were required to carry out Jiang Zemin's orders, even in violation of the constitution and laws. Monstrous crimes have been committed against Falun Dafa practitioners. Countless families have been recklessly destroyed.
Let's take a look at how the "610 Offices" under the Chenghua District Political and Law Committee and the Shuangqiao Comprehensive Problem Tackling Center (abbreviated as "Chenghua District 610" and "PTC 610" below) destroyed this family.
After the persecution started in 1999, the two daughters lost their jobs because they chose to continue their cultivation practice. Later on they found other jobs to make a living, and the family had a new addition of a lovely granddaughter. The old couple was very happy.
In August 2005, Xue Yong (male), the head of the PTC 610, pressured Ms. Liu Li to write a Guarantee Statement (not to practice Falun Dafa any more), but she refused. On September 6, 2005, when Ms Liu Li was by herself at work, Xue Yong and a few officers illegally arrested her and sent her to Chengdu Legal Education Center at Xinjin (actually a brainwashing center and identified as "Xinjin Brainwashing Center" below) to be brainwashed and to force her to give a Guarantee Statement. Ms. Liu Li was kept in the brainwashing center until the end of 2005.
Ms Liu Li's parents, suffering from the loss of their daughter, had the duty of looking after the grandchildren, and the grandmother soon fell sick. Ms Liu Ying and her father went to appeal at the local government and People's Congress, but were told to solve the problem at the local district level. They went to see the department head of Political and Law Committee, Wang Yu (female), and found out that it was she who gave the original order to arrest their daughter.
While Ms. Liu Li was detained, Xue Yong and Liang Jigui (male) threatened the younger daughter, Ms. Liu Ying, and her husband over the phone, saying that they had to write the Guarantee Statement and leave her parents' home. This caused great tension within the family.
On April 25, 2006, after Ms. Liu Li had been released for more than four months, son-in-law Chen Yingjun was arrested as he stepped out of his house. He was sent to Xinjin Brainwashing Center by Xue Yong and Hu Bing (male). They had followed him for a few months before this happened.
The arrests of Ms. Liu Li and Mr. Chen Yingjun by the Chenghua District 610 is against Chinese law. Article 36 of the Constitution of the People's Republic of China states:
"Citizens of the People's Republic of China enjoy freedom of religious belief.
"No state organ, public organization or individual may compel citizens to believe in, or not believe in, any religion; nor may they discriminate against citizens who believe in, or do not believe in, any religion.
"The state protects normal religious activities. No one may make use of religion to engage in activities that disrupt public order, impair the health of citizens or interfere with the educational system of the state."
Whoever forces others to give up their belief is breaking the law and committing a crime. Jiang Zemin and his associates clearly understand that the means they have used to crackdown on Falun Dafa are illegal, so they established the 610 Office (now called the "Evil Cult Prevention Office") at different levels of Political and Law Committees. The lowest level is the Problem Tackling Center. The 610 Office is above the legal system. Families and relatives of Falun Dafa practitioners are often told that the 610 Office does not belong to public security organizations, procuratorial organizations, or people's courts, thus the 610 Office members are not law enforcement officials. But the office exercises the power of a law enforcement body, and it has never followed any legal procedures in its functioning. All the arrests they conduct are illegal and against the law.
Article 37 of China's constitution deals with personal freedom:
"Freedom of the person of citizens of the People's Republic of China is inviolable."
"Unlawful detention or deprivation or restriction of citizens' freedom of the person by other means is prohibited, and unlawful search of the person of citizens is prohibited."
But when questioned by family members of Falun Dafa practitioners, 610 officials will say, "We are not going to discuss this with you."
Under Jiang Zemin's direct order, the public security organizations, procuratorial organizations, and people's courts not only shield the 610 Office, they also arrest innocent people who merely appeal to the government and speak out against the persecution.
The majority of the people are deceived by the propaganda in the media, so Jiang Zemin and 610 Office crimes are not exposed. Very few people know the truth, and even fewer condemn the persecution, leading the 610 Office to believe they have nothing to fear, and the Problem Tackling Centers dare to treat Falun Dafa practitioners arbitrarily.
Xinjin Brainwashing Center is managed by the 610 Office at the Provincial and City level. The founding of the 610 Office is utterly baseless, thus the establishment of the Xinjin Brainwashing Center is also baseless. It was supposed to be for the purpose of "education." Actually it is a prison, or worse than a prison. Someone sentenced to a prison has a chance to be tried first. When someone is serving the sentence, he/she is allowed to have certain freedoms: to move about, have visitors, make phone calls. But in the brainwashing center, the person has to stay in one cell alone, totally isolated from others, with two guards watching his or her movements. People detained in the brainwashing center are not allowed to send or receive letters freely. There is no personal freedom at all. People kept there are like criminals who have never received a sentence.
Article 40 of the Constitution of the People's Republic of China states:
"The freedom and privacy of correspondence of citizens of the People's Republic of China are protected by law."
But all of this is just words on paper, ignored in the government's eye.
Kind-hearted people, after you read the above facts, who do you think is violating the law?
At present, Mr. Chen Yingjun is still detained in Xinjin Brainwashing Center. The former chief of the Problem Tackling Center, Xue Yong, has been replaced by the new chief, Fu Qiang, who has already tried to force Ms. Liu Ying to write a Guarantee Statement. He has told Ms. Liu Ying that the same things could happen to her again if she refuses to write the statement.
We are deeply concerned about her safety and that of her family. We hope all who read this will try to help this family. Their daughter is still very young. The sudden disappearance of the father is already very hard for a child to cope with. If her mother should suddenly disappear as well, how would this little life view this world? What could this do to the old grandparents?
Please help to stop this inhuman persecution!
