Pingdong, Taiwan: Practitioners Appeal to End the Persecution (Photos)
(Clearwisdom.net) "July 20" is a day that all Falun Gong practitioners will never forget. On this date six years ago, the Chinese Communist Party led by Jiang Zemin began the brutal persecution of Falun Gong. Six years later, the persecution has not ended yet. The global effort of Falun Gong practitioners to end the persecution has entered its 2258th day. Practitioners have clarified the truth to the general public and called on the people to help end the violation of basic human rights and freedom of belief and the campaign of genocide.
On July 20 2005, Falun Gong practitioners from the Pingdong area gathered in front of Pingdong Stadium to hold a candlelight vigil to commemorate the 2719 Falun Gong practitioners who have been persecuted to death in China. Starting at 5 p.m., practitioners demonstrated the five sets of exercises to display the beauty of Falun Dafa. At 7 p.m., the practitioners lit candles and sat by each other to appeal for the Chinese Mainland Falun Gong practitioners who are risking their lives for their beliefs.
The candlelight flickered in the wind. The peaceful protest will continue until the persecution ends.
