(Clearwisdom.net) Practitioner Liang Zhongbin was sentenced to 3 years of forced labor for practicing Falun Gong. After his daughter Ms. Liang Hongguang died because of the persecution, the family was constantly harassed and kept from doing the Falun Gong exercises and studying the teachings. As a result, Mr. Liang's old illnesses reappeared and he died on August 31, 2004.

Mr. Liang Zhongbin was 66 years old. He was a resident of Bushang Village, Qiaotou Town, Weihai City. Because he suffered from many afflictions, he began to practice Falun Gong to improve his health. After practicing for some time, Mr. Liang regained his health. In the fall of 1999, he went to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Falun Gong. For that, the authorities detained him in Weihai Detention Center without due cause. He was then sentenced to 3 years of forced labor. Medical tests showed him to be seriously ill, and he was granted early medical release.

In 2000, the police came to Mr. Ling's home frequently to intimidate and harass him. Mr. Liang and his wife were forced leave home and go from place to place to avoid further persecution. They did not return home until they heard that their daughter, practitioner Liang Hongguang, had died because of the persecution.

Ms. Liang Hongguang, 42, worked on the first floor of the Jixing Market in Rongcheng City, Shandong Province. She was recognized and awarded the "Outstanding Service Person" award for several years in a row. She was much admired and praised by her colleagues, friends, supervisors and family members.

On February 27, 2003, at around 7:00 a.m., during the "Two Party Meetings," as Ms. Liang Hongguang was preparing to leave for work, two police officers from Rongcheng City Police Department came to her office to arrest her without due cause. Liang Hongguang tried to escape from the restroom window. Unfortunately, she was injured in the process and died two hours later.

After Ms. Liang's death, police from Weihai City's 610 Office and Qiaotou Police Station often went to Mr. Liang's home to harass him and to try to make him renounce Falun Gong. The prolonged mental duress prevented Mr. Liang from studying the Fa and practicing the exercises. His illnesses reappeared, and he died at 3 p.m. on August 31, 2004.
