(Clearwisdom.net) Jealousy is a common attachment among cultivators. That's why Teacher singled it out and especially talked about jealousy in Zhuan Falun.
Because of my jealousy and showing off, I was once persecuted and became homeless. At that time, I had fear and was not able to still my mind while studying the Fa and sending forth righteous thoughts. Thus, the evil found an excuse to persecute me.
Some practitioners talk often about various ways of paying attention to safety, but they don't focus on getting rid of their attachments. No matter what human means one uses for protection, there will always be omissions. I am not saying that we should not pay attention to safety issues. However, Teacher often tells us to "cultivate openly and with dignity." Master taught,
"At the same time, human beings need to have their living spaces and living conditions, and these need to be maintained and protected. Human beings need to sustain their lives and live normally." (Zhuan Falun)
I have realized that the major reason why some practitioners are persecuted is because they have many attachments. They study the Fa and send forth righteous thoughts merely as a formality. In reality they don't do well overall and fail to maintain righteous thoughts.
Teacher commented on the article, "Shed the Human Mindset," written by a practitioner, that,
"The most prominent manifestation of this is the severe persecution many students face as a result of their strong human mindset and lack of righteous thoughts."
I think the major attachments that the evil takes advantage of to persecute us include jealousy, lust and desires, showing off, competitiveness and so on. Teacher has talked about all of these attachments in teaching the Fa. These attachments are an excuse the evil uses to persecute Dafa practitioners. If they cannot find an excuse, they will not dare to persecute Dafa practitioners, because Teacher is looking after us, and Teacher does not allow them to persecute us. The laws of the old universe do not allow them either, so they dare not persecute us without an excuse.
As Dafa practitioners, we must keep a calm mind when we study the Fa and send forth righteous thoughts. We must cultivate until not one attachment is left so that we will fulfill our missions. When we have no attachments, the evil will find no excuse to persecute us. When we study the Fa well, and keep righteous thoughts at all times, the evil cannot come close to our dimensional fields; otherwise it will be disintegrated.
