Teacher: Coordinators have to be willing and able to listen to different opinions. But if you think about the coordinators, they're cultivators too and they're not perfect. Some students wonder, "Why don't we pick whoever is smartest and who's cultivated best in our area to be the coordinator?" (Audience laughs) It doesn't work that way.

Linjia Village Police Beat Dafa Practitioner Ms. Li Xianglan to Death in Zhucheng City, Shandong Province

(Clearwisdom.net) Dafa practitioner Ms. Li Xianglan, a 48-year-old woman from Linjia Village, Zhucheng City, was taken by Linjia Village policemen Cao Jinhui and Zhu Wei to the police station on May 7, 2001. While detained at the police station, she was subjected to a brutal beating and on the following morning she was found dead.

Additional Facts Regarding the Torture Death of Ms. Liu Caiyun at the Baimalong Forced Labor Camp

(Clearwisdom.net) Dafa practitioner Ms. Liu Caiyun, over thirty years old, came from Yongzhou, Hunan Province. In October 2000, she was abducted by police in Zhuzhou (Hunan Province) while she was walking to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. The police first held her at the Lengshuitan Detention Center for a month, then transferred her to the Mangshan Detention Center and held her there for over twenty days. Later, Ms. Liu was held at the Lingjiaotang Detention Center for two months. Finally, the police took her to Zhuzhou's Baimalong Forced Labor Camp, where she was tortured for eight months. Ms. Liu went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. In March 2003, Ms. Liu Caiyun was tortured until she was in critical condition. She was very thin by that time, and the police continued to force-feed her. Later, Liu Caiyun died as a result of the continual torture she was subjected to at Zhuzhou's Baimalong Forced Labor Camp.

Hong Kong Resident Ms. Fu Xueying Illegally Sentenced for Clarifying the Truth about Falun Gong in Mainland China

(Clearwisdom.net) Hong Kong resident Ms. Fu Xueying was arrested for distributing materials that clarified the facts about Falun Gong practitioners being persecuted in Mainland China. Ms. Fu was illegally and secretly sentenced to three years in prison before May 1, 2004, and transferred from a detention center in Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province to another place in the province. When Ms. Fu's husband, Mr. Feng, called to inquire about his wife's whereabouts, the Shenzhen City authorities told him that Fu Xueying had been sentenced to prison. According to the law, appeals should be submitted within 10 days of the sentence. Because Feng was not informed in a timely manner, the deadline for the appeal had passed. The persecutors also refused to tell her husband of Ms. Fu's current whereabouts.
