Mr. Yan Liyou from Hainan Province Dies as a Result of Torture

(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Yan Liyou, born in 1954, was originally from Laohekou City, Hubei Province. He was the former general manager of Huayi Industry Development Company in Hainan Province. When he was young, he was in a car accident and was paralyzed. Even though he spent lots of money to seek a cure, there was no effective treatment and he was confined to a wheelchair. At the end of 1998, he started practicing Falun Gong. Soon he was able to stand up and walk on his own. Even though he still walked with a limp, his health greatly improved. He could do all of the Dafa exercises. He donated his wheelchair and crutches to the community office.

The Persecution of 20 Dafa Practitioners in Dazu County, Sichuan Province Illustrates the Scale, Severity and Pervasive Nature of the Suppression of Falun Gong

(Clearwisdom.net) As of May 16, 2004, it has been nearly five years since Jiang Zemin and his followers started to openly persecute Falun Gong practitioners on July 20, 1999. In order to justify and sustain the persecution, they have been spreading propaganda against Falun Gong to the people in China, who are denied access to the facts about Falun Gong. The Head of the "610 Office"* in Dazu County, Sichuan Province has collaborated with Dazu County's Public Security Bureau in following Jiang's order to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. They have ransacked Falun Gong practitioners' homes, extorted their money in the name of fines, thrown them into detention centers and jails, given them illegal sentences, subjected them to forced brainwashing programs which used violence and torture, and implicated their families and relatives in the persecution. They have sent out a large police force to hunt down Falun Gong practitioners and filled Dazu County with terror.

(Clearwisdom.net) The Etouwan "610" (1) Brainwashing Center of Qiaokou District, in Wuhan of Hubei Province, persecuted Falun Gong practitioner Huang Yongmei, who is over fifty years old. As a result of the persecution, she became disabled. In the brainwashing center, Ms. Huang was restrained to two metal beds for five consecutive days without relief. The perpetrators also made efforts to pull the two beds apart, creating a torture similar to the "dismemberment with five horses." (2)
