Practitioner Ms. Zhang Lanfen of Laiyang City Is Unlawfully Held in a Mental Hospital

(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Zhang Lanfen, 40 years old, is a resident of Dazhuangzi Village, Jiangzhuang Town, Laiyang City, Shandong Province. Ms. Zhang has been practicing Falun Dafa for many years. Since July 20, 1999, Jiang's regime began a campaign to slander and persecute Falun Dafa. Ms. Zhang has been illegally detained by her local town government on three different occasions. She was fined a total of 5,700 yuan [500 yuan is equal to the average monthly salary of an urban worker in China]. Ms. Zhang's cassette recorder and Falun Dafa books have been confiscated.

(Clearwisdom.net) Zhao Guoan, male, 55 years old, was a Dafa disciple in Luohe City, Henan Province. Because Mr. Zhao kept telling people about Falun Gong, he was sent to Xuchang City No. 3 Labor Camp by the police on August 7, 2003. Four months later, his family was notified by the labor camp that Mr. Zhao had died of a "heart attack." When his wife, Ms. Zhang Guirong, insisted on seeing his body, she was greatly shocked by what she saw.

High School Student Is Expelled and Jailed, Other Practitioners Arrested

(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Zhang Conghui, an 18-year-old student at Xuanhua First High School in Chicheng County, Hebei Province, was "urged to drop out" right before the opening of the "Two National Conferences" (1) in 2004, simply because she wrote a note to a boy, saying "Please remember Falun Dafa is good." On February 24, Ms. Zhang went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa and was arrested and sent to jail, then taken to a brainwashing class in Zhangjiakou City. The authorities threatened to send her to a forced labor camp, causing her family a great deal of anxiety. This was the second incident in which these local authorities deprived a youngster of the right to a proper education in China. In 2001, they illegally jailed a 16-year-old female high school student for over seven months.
