Wang Weiping, Dafa Practitioner in Gangu County, Gansu Province, Sentenced to Eighteen Years in Prison for Truth-Clarifying TV Broadcast

(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Wang Weiping, approximately thirty years old, lived in Gangu County, Gansu Province. Because he insists on living according to the principles of "Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance," and because he clarified the truth to the public, he has been detained on four occasions by the "610 Office."(1)

Zhao Huiju is fifty-two years old and she is from the Xigaohuang Village, Jiaodian Township, Xinhua District of Pingdingshan City in the Henan Province. On September 25, 2003, she went to Lianwa Town of Lushan County to hand out flyers explaining the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong and was reported to the police. Around one hundred police from the county's public security bureau and national security brigade were sent to arrest her. In a public place she was brutally beaten up, kicked along the ground for a couple of meters, and dragged by her hair to the police car. One elderly woman spoke out for her and said, "Why are the people's police beating up the people?" Before she could say anything more, a tall policeman emerged out of the crowd and slapped both sides of her face repeatedly until she spat blood from her mouth. At that time, there were more than one hundred bystanders and they all witnessed these brutal acts.

Falun Gong asks for the Persecution of Practitioners in China to be Discussed in the EU-China Human Rights Dialogue

(Clearwisdom.net) Bilateral talks on human rights between the European Union and China were recently held in Ireland's capital, Dublin. Human rights organisations asked the Irish government to pay attention to China's persecution of Falun Gong practitioners, along with China's Internet censorship and information blockade. Falun Gong practitioners also took further steps in filing a lawsuit against the Chinese officials who persecute Falun Gong.
