(Clearwisdom.net) Around 5 p.m. on September 6, 2004, several police officers from the Chunhai Police Station (under the jurisdiction of the Zhongshan District Police Department, Dalian City, Liaoning Province) headed by Sun Yucheng, broke into the home of Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Liu Wencan, who is in his 60s. The perpetrators abducted him, his wife Hu Guilian, and Hu Guilian's younger sister Ms. Hu Shuhai. Before the abduction, Liu Wencan had been detained in Dalian Forced Labor Camp, where he was tortured so severely that he was rendered disabled. As a result, Mr. Liu cannot take care of himself. After being detained for one day and one night at the Chunhai Police Station, where he was threatened, he was released. His wife Hu Guilian and his sister Hu Shuhai were transferred to the Dalian Detention Center. The police said that they would sentence the two women.

Liu Wencan's family has been detained many times. Around 10 p.m. one day in October 1999, police officer Wang and Zhang Jinying (female, since retired) from the Chunhai Police Station broke in and ransacked Liu Wencan's home. They forcefully took away more than 10 pictures of Teacher Li and of the Falun emblem. The perpetrators also arrested Mr. Liu's wife and their daughter Liu Li and detained them for a week.

On January 21, 2000, guard Zhao Guangyuan arrested Liu Wencan and Hu Guilian for practicing the exercises in public. The couple was detained for 15 days, and the police confiscated their portable CD player. Mr. Liu requested the return of the item many times, but the police did not comply. To protest the illegal detention, Mr. Liu refused to sign the detention document. Zhao Guangyuan said, "You think that we cannot deal with you if you don't sign it? We can fix you anyway!"

On February 17, 2000, Hu Guilian and her daughter Liu Li went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa. At the train station in Dalian City, the police abducted the two practitioners and detained them in the Drug Rehabilitation Institute of the Dalian Bureau of Judiciary for a week. They were only released after paying a fine of 5,000 yuan (1). By that time, the Drug Rehabilitation Institute had been turned into a detention camp to torture Dafa practitioners. The police there tortured the mother and daughter.

On June 30, 2000, several practitioners came to Liu Wencan's home to visit the couple. The Chunhai Police Station labeled the visit as an "illegal gathering." Officer Zhang Jinying ransacked Mr. Liu's home and stole many items, including over 50 Falun Dafa books, one set of the 9-day lecture series on video and one set of the 9 lectures on audio. The couple and the visiting practitioners as well as a practitioner's child were all arrested. Except for one practitioner and the practitioner's child, who were "released on bail" (it's actually extortion) by their family members, the other six practitioners were all sentenced to terms of forced labor. Liu Wencan was sentenced to 1 year and Hu Guilian was sentenced to 2 and a half years. Both of them were then detained in the Dalian Forced Labor Camp. The labor camp wrote on their documents, "possession of Falun Gong materials", as the reason for the couple's detention.

Since the couple was detained in the labor camp, their daughter Liu Li was left home alone. A fellow practitioner, Ms. Ma Xueqing, took care of Liu Li after work. One night in July 2000, guard Wei Quan (who has since been transferred) from the Chunhai Police Station ransacked their home. The perpetrator stole two incense burners made of pure copper (each worth about 300 yuan). Wei also beat up the two girls. He grabbed Liu Li's hair with all his strength and kicked her in the back. As a result, much of her hair was pulled out, and even the skin on her scalp was pulled off in several places. Ms. Liu's back was covered with bruises. In the end, the police arrested the two girls and detained them at the Dalian Detention Center.

In August 2001, after Liu Wencan was released from the forced labor camp, police guards Zhang Jinying and Jiang Degang from Chunhai Police Station came again to ransack Mr. Liu's home. They stole 4 audiotapes of Teacher's lectures and a picture of Teacher. When Zhang Jinying was calling the police station asking for reinforcements and a vehicle to come and make the arrest, Mr. Liu pushed the two police guards out the door and locked the house.

In March 2002, while Liu Wencan's older daughter Liu Min was talking to a friend on the No. 31 Bus about her parents' experiences of being sent to labor camps, a plain-clothes agent reported her. Police from Lianhelu Police Station stopped the bus and abducted Liu Min. The perpetrators detained her at the Dalian Detention Center for a month, and then sentenced her to two years of forced labor. She was sent to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp, where the persecutors brutally tortured her, including forcing her to stay outside in the freezing winter. (Translator's note: The winter temperature in Northeast China can easily reach -30 degrees Celsius or -22 Fahrenheit.)

At around 4 p.m. on April 24, 2002, the day before a "sensitive" date (Falun Gong practitioners went to Beijing on April 25, 1999 to appeal to the central government to stop persecuting Falun Gong. Later, the authorities take special effort to ensure no practitioner go to appeal on and around April 25.), a few guards from the Chunhai Police Station including Dong Liang ransacked Liu Wencan's home once again. They forcefully took away an audiotape and 50 truth-clarifying fliers. The persecutors arrested the couple and detained them in the Dalian Detention Center for a month, after which they sentenced them to terms of forced labor. Liu Wencan was sent to the Dalian Forced Labor Camp for the second time. In February 2003, Mr. Liu was tortured so severely that he was left physically disabled. As a result, Mr. Liu has not been able to take care of himself. Hu Guilian was sent to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. On March 27, Ms. Hu escaped from the labor camp with the help of her righteous thoughts.

On April 25, 2002, the Dalian Skin Disease Dispensary tried to force Ms. Liu Li to sign her parents' detention card. When Liu Li refused, guard Wang Hongwei from the Chunhai Police Station arrested her on the spot. After being detained in the Dalian Detention Center for a month, Liu Li was sentenced to 2 years of forced labor and sent to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. At this time, all four members of Liu Wencan's family were detained in forced labor camps: Liu Wencan was in the Dalian Forced Labor Camp; and his wife and daughters, Hu Guilian, Liu Min, and Liu Li were detained in Masanjia Forced Labor Camp.

When Liu Wencan was released for medical treatment (after he was left disabled from the abuse) in March 2003, his home had been empty for a year: there was mildew in the rice, and innumerable moths had hatched and were flying around in his home.

From May 2003 to May 2004, Liu Wencan was harassed and monitored by a group of perpetrators.
