In A Few Words: Treat Fellow Practitioners with Sincerity and Honesty
(Clearwisdom.net) The coordination between fellow practitioners is extremely important when it comes to the issue of how to become one body. I have the following suggestions in this regard:
1. When problems occur and when we see problems, we should talk directly to the fellow practitioners concerned. Frankness and sincerity between Dafa practitioners is very beneficial in forming a field of one body. As for a practitioner who points out problems, they should not give too much consideration to whether other practitioners would form a negative opinion of them. (My understanding is that when we find it hard to break through the barrier of sentiment and self-interest, then we should think if what we want to say is for self-interest. If not, we should frankly and sincerely speak up.) As for the practitioner to whom the problem is directed, he/she should take the other practitioners' opinions with a kind understanding. Of course, both sides should look inward at all times, they should exchange ideas openly and sincerely so that they can encourage each other and make progress together.
2. Regarding certain issues, we should pay attention to the cultivation of speech. Sometimes we may say something that might unintentionally cause misunderstandings, even conflicts among fellow practitioners. Master said,
"You probably remember something I've said to you often: a Dafa disciple should consider others first in everything he does. Whenever something happens or whenever a situation comes about, even if it's a minor thing, my first thought is of others, for it's already become natural for me--I just think of others first." ("Teaching the Fa at the 2002 Fa Conference in Boston")
This is a very important issue. Among Dafa practitioners there is a land of purity and we should do our best to maintain this land of purity, especially at the moment when there still exists much interference from other dimensions.
3. Cultivators vary in many ways. For instance, they attained the Fa at different times and their level of understanding of the Fa also varies; they live in different environments and their acquired notions create even bigger discrepancies, and consequently, they also have different attachments. Those practitioners who attained the Fa after July 20, 1999 in particular may exhibit complex cultivation states in the current time because they did not go through a solid process of personal cultivation.
Many fellow practitioners started to participate in Dafa work at the same time as they attained the Fa; therefore, much time in group sessions nowadays is spent on discussing actual tasks to be accomplished, and there is a lack of an environment in which we can truly melt together in the Fa. For relatively new practitioners, this is a test. Many are currently trapped in personal tribulations, either obvious ones or hidden ones, and they need help. However, many practitioners think that we have not much time left even for clarifying the truth, so we should not spend too much time on individual practitioners' problems.
Yet, if we cannot even show truly kind understanding and support towards our fellow practitioners, then even if we do a lot of Dafa work, what does it really mean? At most it is no different than trying to obtain outstanding achievements, and even though everyone is trying hard, we would still fall far behind the requirements set for Fa-rectification Dafa disciples by Master and Dafa.
Precisely because time is precious, we should help our fellow practitioners with kindness, understanding and support instead of complaining. If we fail to do so, we should ask ourselves whether what we do manifests the boundless compassion of Dafa disciples or if it is merely for establishing personal virtue?
Limited by my own level, the above only serves as a reminder. Please kindly point out anything improper so that we can help and encourage one another.
