[Editors' Note: In both Western and Chinese culture, the principle of karmic retribution, that is, being held ultimately accountable for one's own actions, is widely accepted. The fundamental teaching of Falun Gong is the characteristic of the universe, "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." The universe will reward actions that are in harmony with this principle, while actions such as beating, torturing and murdering people will incur karmic retribution. Stated another way, good deeds will be rewarded with good, while evildoings will meet due retribution. Articles such as this one are meant as a compassionate reminder of this principle to those who would commit wrongdoing. While many of those who persecute Falun Gong are merely "following orders," the universal law requires that they, too, be held responsible for their actions, and that only by reversing their course of wrongdoing may they escape retribution.]

Accordingly to incomplete statistics, from July 22, 1999 to Chinese New Year's Day of 2002, thirty-eight people in Yingyang City, Henan Province had already received karmic retribution for causing damage to Falun Dafa and persecuting Falun Dafa practitioners. They include government officials, businessmen and policemen.

On July 13, 2000, Falun Gong practitioners of Gaochun Township went to Beijing to legally appeal for Falun Gong. The various townships and counties in Yingyang City started to persecute Falun Gong on a large scale. On July 19, the practitioners were unlawfully arrested in Beijing. The police from Yingyang City hurried to Beijing to take these practitioners back. One evil policeman who was driving came to a bridge over the Yellow River and mistakenly thought that he saw a car that belonged to a practitioner from Gaochun Township who was being taken back. He then sped towards the car to ram into it. In the end, he himself died a violent death on the bridge while his own car was destroyed.

The lawless officers followed the Chinese dictator and committed bad deeds for the sake of money. But they have only brought calamities to themselves and to the local people:

Case 1

On the morning of December 27th, 2001 (Chinese lunar calendar), a fire broke out at the marketplace. Forty-eight people lost their lives in the fire.

Case 2

One night in mid-March 2001, the Ludong electric cable factory at Wanshan Street caught fire. The financial loss was in the millions. According to what has been revealed, this electric cable factory is a private company owned by the Political and Judiciary Committee Secretary, Feng Songmao.

Case 3

On New Year's Day of 2002, the government officials, in the name of a business trip, used public funds to take a luxury car for a joyride. They got into an accident along the way. Three of them died on the spot, while the rest were seriously injured.

Case 4

On the eve of Spring Festival 2002, four policemen drove around to collect firecrackers. On their way back, the firecrackers suddenly exploded. The driver was seriously injured and sent to a hospital for emergency rescue. The medical cost he incurred was 16,000 Yuan [500 Yuan is the average monthly income for an urban worker in China]. According to what was revealed, out of the four policemen, one became disabled and the other three died.

Case 5

On July 19th, 2002, hailstones suddenly came down in Zhengzhou City and its periphery. Yingyang City similarly suffered from hail. Over three hundred people around the boundary between Gongyi City Mihe District and Yingyong City died. The crops were almost completely destroyed.
