1. [Chongqing] People's Comments after Watching Falun Gong TV Programs
People have responded a great deal after watching the Falun Gong programs that were inserted into CCTV station's planned programming. Since then, many people have said that Falun Gong is an issue of belief and that it should not be persecuted.
2. [Huludao City, Liaoning Province] Police Attempt To Arrest a 69-Year-Old Dafa Practitioner
Li Shuyuan, a 69-year-old Dafa practitioner and a retired employee of Daughter River Fabricate Factory in Jingzhou City, Liaoning Province, was arrested by police from the Qingbu Town Police Station on the evening of June 25, 2002. She was then illegally detained for 15 days. After the detention term was completed, her family came to get her. However, the police refused to release her and said that they would send her to the notorious Masanjia Labor Camp.

Wang Hui has had money extorted on two occasions. The first time it was 5000 Yuan (about 5 months of a typical urban worker's wages) and the second time 3000 Yuan.
Liang Yuyin, female, 50 years old, had been going from place to place for over one year. She was detained for a total of 36 days since March 2002 and her family has been forced to pay 4000 Yuan.
Liao Anan has been detained since March 2002. Police have extorted 6000 Yuan from his family. Zhang Mingcai extorted 1000 Yuan from his family privately.
Wang Jidu, male, has been detained twice. While searching his home, the head of the Political Safeguard Office led police who snatched away his valuable stamp collection, gold ring and gold necklace. Additionally, they extorted 5000 Yuan from him. The work unit then discontinued his pension for half a year.
Tao Yuzhen, female, was detained.
Zhang Xiuying, female, was detained in May 2001 when police attempted to send her to a labor camp. Because she did not pass a physical examination, the labor camp did not accept her into the camp.
Wang Li, female, was detained, had 3000 Yuan extorted, had her salary withheld, and was forced to perform heavy manual labor.
Wang Jun, female, had her salary withheld and was given the most undesirable work assignments.
Si Liping, female, was detained and had 3000 Yuan extorted. She is given the most difficult work, yet her work unit only gives her a small stipend instead of her normal wages.

Most of the practitioners who were detained also had money extorted from them. If they refused to submit the money, they were sent to labor camps. Police would also often take their property when searching their houses.

Zhang Zhenxiang is the president of a bank in the Bijie Area. His family has five members, three of whom have been sent to labor camp or jail. Only the grandfather and the little granddaughter are left at home.

Wang Nan was previously a policeman at the Shanghenjie police station. He was frequently involved in the persecution of Dafa practitioners. This person was of a very low moral grade. He used his professional position to manipulate and rape a detained drug addict. This is a scandal everyone in the police station has heard about. He was for this reason removed and transferred.
Police from the station in Chongqing broke into a residence at midnight and arrested a practitioner, sending him to a detention center. They then asked for 2000 Yuan as "bail" for his release.
Police in the Chongqing detention center said, "In here we do not need to obey the labor law." They often force detainees to work for very long periods, as much as 16 hours. Detainees who do not finish their work are forced to do it overnight, and if they refuse, they are put into handcuffs. The price of regular food and meat is three times the normal cost.

Recently, several persons of questionable identity came to the Beijing Xisi Electronics Market. They watched the customers who bought electric components, particularly those who bought TV equipment. They would even step in close to take a good look and stayed for several days.
