Press Release, May 13, 2002: Austrian Falun Gong Practitioner Arrested in China

Falun Dafa Information Center Austria: Based on the latest information, Alexander Hamrle was taken to a Changchun police station. Since then there has been no contact with him.

Vienna, May 13, 2002 -- Austrian citizen and Falun Gong practitioner Alexander Hamrle was arrested today in Changchun, China. He had planned to tell the Changchun citizenry today, on the 10th anniversary of Falun Gong, that Falun Gong is good and that the persecution is unjust. Changchun is the very city where Falun Gong was first brought to the public in 1992. He had compiled his personal story and his opinion in an open letter and wanted to deliver that letter to the citizens of Changchun.

ORF (Austrian TV): Arrest of Austrian Falun Gong practitioner in China

An Austrian Falun Gong follower was arrested in the northern Chinese city of Changchun today, so reports the Falun Dafa Information Center.

Austrians have distributed flyers on this, the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the founding of Falun Gong, to raise awareness of the persecution of the followers in China, as is reported in a press release.

A lone Western Falungong protestor flew a banner in a demonstration on Tiananmen Square Monday, the 10th anniversary of the first public introduction of the Buddhist-based spiritual practice in China.
