Zhang Ying, female, 33, resident of Yonghong District and employee of No 2 Pharmaceutical Factory of Jiamusi City, was making copies of Falun Dafa materials when her coworker Ding Weifei tipped off the authorities of the factory, who reported her to the police of Shaoxing City, Zhejiang Province. She was then sent to a detention center at 4 p.m. on February 5, 2001. During the two weeks she was under detention, she was interrogated four times. Her three-year contract with Asia-Pacific Pharmaceutical Factory was terminated, which resulted in her losing 78,000 Yuan in lost income [Chinese currency, the monthly salary for an average Chinese urban worker is about 500 Yuan]. In addition, she was not allowed to write or phone anyone. On February 15, she was sent from Shaoxing City, Zhejiang Province back to Yonghong Police Division of Jiamusi City, where Guo Weishan and Du interrogated her before being sent to Jiamusi Detention Center. She was released on February 16 after being coerced into writing a Letter of Guarantee, stating she would not practice Falun Gong. When she got home, she found that the police had already extorted 2,000 Yuan from her family. On October 22, 2000, she was fired by her company, and the 610 Office [a bureau specifically created by the Chinese government to persecute Falun Gong. It has absolute power over each level of administration in the Party, as well as over the political and judiciary branches] publicized her job loss in the local media, which resulted in her insurance company refusing to pay her a total of 3000 Yuan in benefits.
Xu Chuanying, female, 68 and a resident of Yonghong District, went to Beijing to make an appeal for Falun Dafa in December 2000. She was detained at Changchun Station for two days before being sent to Jiamusi Detention Center for a week. She was released only after she paid a 3000 Yuan fine. On September 3, 2001, she was again arrested while clarifying the truth to people, for which Yonghong Police Division jailed her for 26 days. She was then sent to a forced labor camp for two years even after being on a hunger strike for 26 days. She was released only because the labor camp did not want to keep a prisoner in such a weakened state of health. The main perpetrator of Zhang was Guo Weishan.
Liu Xinyu, male, 24 and a resident of Xiangyang District, Jiamusi City, was harassed by the local police at home and at work to write a letter promising not to practice Falun Gong. In July 2001, he was at home listening to a cassette recording of one of Teacher's lectures when Yang Huaijun and a policeman stormed in and ransacked his home. They took his Falun Dafa books, Teacher's portrait, and the tapes of the lectures. They also threatened to send him to a forced labor camp if he continued to practice. Liu was forced to leave home and live on the street to avoid further persecution.
Ma Guixiang, female, 37 and an employee of Jiamusi Electrical Motor Factory was arrested at Harbin railway station by the police on July 21, 1999. She was held on the sixth floor of a Yonghong District government building until 4.p.m. the next day. She was released after paying 80 Yuan. From February 18, 2000 to February 31, she was arrested for going to Beijing and appealing for Falun Dafa, held for 42 days, and had to pay a fine of 3000 Yuan as well as 840 Yuan for food before being released. Her previous employer had to pay the police 2000 Yuan for escorting her back from Beijing. Since Ma Guixiang was fired from the company she had to repay her previous employer with her savings. In July 2001, she was arrested by three policemen from Yonghong Division at a fellow practitioner's home and taken to the local police station to "reflect" for two hours. Her face was slapped while her fellow practitioner's home was ransacked, their Falun Dafa books were confiscated, and the group was fined 1000 Yuan. He was jailed for one day and fined 500 Yuan. On January 11, 2001, the authorities of his company and the Yonghong Police Station tricked him into going to Yonghong Police Division, where they tried to force him to promise not to go to Beijing again. Refusing to cooperate, he was sent to a detention center for 30 days and his sister was forced to pay 3000 Yuan for his release. His employer, afraid that he would go to Beijing again, dismissed him. During this time, he was under surveillance and watched closely.

He was not allowed to go back to his job. In May, he was forced to pay another 4150 Yuan to cover the travel expenses of his escorts. He only received receipts for 2117 Yuan. By the time he got home, he had been suffering from scabies for months. In 2001, when he went to visit another practitioner, he was again arrested and taken to a detention center by a local policeman, Zhong Qiang. He was released after he went on a hunger strike for 5 days. He has lost his job since he went to Beijing and currently has no income at all.

From then on, she was constantly monitored and harassed. Her daily life was seriously interrupted. The people responsible for the persecution are Zhao Shijing and Zhang Huanyou.

Thus, criminal Sun Hui, under instructions from Zhang Huanyou, the vice police officer of Yilan County Police Station, beat him many times. On February 2000, Jin again went to Beijing to appeal and was held for 28 days in the Second Detention Center of Yilan County. There he was secured by 30-pound shackles. He went on a hunger strike for 13 days to protest such barbaric treatment. To torture him, police force-fed him with concentrated salt water twice a day. Police also extorted 5000 Yuan from his family members before releasing him. In November 2000, when he was spreading the truth about Falun Dafa in the countryside, he was arrested by the Forestry Bureau police and sent to the Yilan County Second Detention Center. He was sentenced to 2 years in a forced labor camp and was delivered to Halinzi Forced Labor Camp on January 20, 2001. In the labor camp, he was put into a punishment cell 4 times. He went on hunger strike 3 times. One of the hunger strikes lasted for 22 days. On the fourth day of his hunger strike, police force-fed him using a naso-gastric tube. On December 7, 2000, the police got him to go to the police station with the ruse that they wanted him to verify something. Li was arrested and taken to the Yilan County Second Detention Center. To extort a confession, police beat him so brutally that he passed out. He was sent to hospital for treatment. After he recovered, he was sent back and beaten again. On January 20, 2000, he was sentenced to 2 years in a labor camp without being charged with a crime. In the labor camp, he developed mange, which caused itching all over his body and made it difficult to take care of himself. From January 1, 2002, he went on a hunger strike to protest the cruel treatment. On the fifth day of his hunger strike, police brutally fed him by force, which severely injured his body. With such life-threatening injuries, he was sent to a hospital for treatment; but the hospital could not help his situation. To avoid taking responsibility for his probable death, Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp sent him home.

They also forced him to stand in a painful stance - the upper part of his body was upright and his knees were bent at almost 90 degrees. He was jailed in the Yilan County Second Detention Center for 34 days, where police officer Liu Chen often beat him or shocked him with an electric baton. Officer Liu even threatened to throw him down a flight of stairs. He frequently vomited or lost control of his bowels because of the numerous electric shocks. He was released after officer Zhang Huanyou extorted 8000 Yuan from his family. After he returned to work, his company refused to pay him and extorted 900 Yuan from him just because he insisted on practicing Falun Dafa. On August 2000, over 20 people from Yilan County Police Station, Yilan Coal Company Security Division, and Dalianhe Town Police Station, with reporters and video cameras, climbed over his courtyard wall and ransacked his home. They even searched his wife, who was caring for their 12-days-old baby. His mother was so scared that collapsed twice because of her heart disease.
