The persecution of Dafa and Dafa disciples has now lasted for over three years, and in no time it'll be four years. During this period a lot of our Dafa disciples, especially the Dafa disciples in Mainland China, have been subjected to evil persecution that's just unprecedented. In the midst of the terror that was created by lies and deceit, they've held up under the persecution, which is just evil to the extreme, and they've made it through these three years. That's outstanding! Ordinary people couldn't do that.

China Would be in Danger of What?

Lately, some Hong Kong political figures and officials have been trying their best to promote the proposed Article 23 Provisions. They try to sell it to the public under the name of patriotism. Actually, the goal [of the article] is simply to strengthen the dictatorship. Is it true that China would be in danger if this Article were not passed in Hong Kong? China would be in danger of what? We will know just what kind of danger they are talking about if we take a look at the rights currently enjoyed by the Hong Kong people versus those given to the people in Mainland China under the autocracy there.

UK Parliament Debate Article 23 -- Two Chairmen Express Concern

On 26/11/02, the UK House of Commons conducted a debate on the widely opposed Article 23 legislation in Hong Kong.

Mr. Howard Flight MP who is a joint chairman of the all-party House of Commons Hong Kong committee initiated the parliament debate. He told MPs "The debate centers on whether the proposals are essentially a modernization of archaic laws--which is, broadly, the Hong Kong Government's argument--or whether they are a beginning of the application of mainland concepts of national security, under something of a disguise."

Asia Time reported on December 5 that an influential group in the Pentagon and Vice President Dick Cheney's office is calling on US President George W Bush to review Hong Kong's special status if the territory approves proposed national security laws.
