(Clearwisdom.net) In order to tell the public about the persecution of Falun Gong in China and gain their support, last Saturday we held a two-hour peaceful appeal in Regensburg, Germany.

We focused on two themes: One was about Hong Kong's planned legislation of Article 23 of the Basic Law. Once the legislation is put in place, it will pave the way for the Hong Kong government to ban Falun Gong. The other theme was to collect signatures for rescuing Xiong Wei, a Chinese Falun Gong practitioner who used to study in Berlin and was sent to a forced labor camp in Beijing early this year.

Prior to the activity, we sent invitations to the media and many organizations, and we also put up posters downtown and at universities. We gained support from many people who pasted our invitations on their windows.

The day before the activity, we made a banner that read, "SOS! China Stop Persecuting Falun Gong!"

On Saturday morning, it was sunny, and we set off with our Dafa information and materials, banners and display boards. As soon as we reached the place, the weather changed, with heavy rain pouring down and dark clouds densely covering the sky. The wind was so strong that it was difficult for us to display our materials.

We resolutely unfurled banners despite the strong winds and heavy rain, and our hearts gradually calmed down. Fifteen minutes later, some practitioners from surrounding cities arrived and the rain let up in about 30 minutes. Many people admiringly looked at us from a large bus station opposite us.

We began passing out flyers and talking with pedestrians. Two local newspaper reporters and press-photographers also came and interviewed practitioners at a nearby café. Then, a positive article was published in Monday's newspaper. The reporter also wanted to learn the exercises and read the book Zhuan Falun.

There was a museum opposite us where a staff member worked upstairs. Seeing a practitioner in the building, he stopped the practitioner and asked for a flyer.

Many pedestrians showed great interest in the history of the Swastika symbol the practitioners carefully prepared for them, as many Germans do not know its history and true meaning.
