The Brutal Persecution of Falun Dafa Practitioners at Gaomi City
[Minghui Net] Since July 20th, 1999 the evil persecutors of Gaomi city, Shandong Province have been brutally torturing local Dafa practitioners. The following is an account of some cases:
Sui Qingpeng has been detained three times because he legally appealed to the government. During his detention the director of the Gaomi detention center often incited the criminals to brutally torture him. They beat his legs and knees until he was unable to stand for several days, burned him repeatedly with cigarettes, shocked him over and over. Because Sui was on a hunger strike, he was forcefed in addition to being tortured by criminals inmates. The director said: "If Sui does not eat, no one else in the cell is allowed to eat." Due to his prolonged period of starvation it was difficult for Sui to keep food down. The director then ordered other criminals to slam him to the ground. Additionally, Sui was chained up all day long. He was tortured until he was almost dead. They then ordered Sui's work unit to take him to the hospital. Before Sui recovered, and while he was still coughing due to the force-feeding, he was sentenced without cause to a labor camp for three years. His mother was left at home alone. She was also deprived of the right of visiting him.
Wang Ping was detained several times because of practicing Falun Gong. In June 2000 she was arrested for practicing outdoors. During the detention she was forced to work for more than 10 hours a day. She was provided with little food and was deprived sleep. In addition, the staff incited criminals to beat her repeatedly. She was expelled from her work unit after one month. In Oct 2000 she went to Beijing to appeal and was sentenced to a labor camp. Her family was not allowed to visit her. Her current status is unknown.
The street committee detained Liu Xinlan for seven days in July 1999 because she practiced Falun Gong. In July 2000 she was again illegally detained for 5 days because she wanted to go to Beijing to appeal. She was later sent to the Gaomi detention center and held for another 15 days. After that she was again sent back to be supervised by the street committee, which demanded that she meet the following requirements: 1. She can go home only after she has renounced Falun Dafa. 2. If she refuses she will be sent back to the city detention center. 3. She will then be driven away from her hometown (Because her registration documents are not from her hometown). In addition, they asked her to sell her house and give them the money from the sale. Her family was unable to sustain the enormous pressure. Her husband signed a divorce agreement. Her child signed the agreement, which stated that he wanted to terminate his relationship with his mother. Her child even forced her to sign this agreement. The whole family is now in a state of chaos.
Wang Kaicheng was illegally put into criminal detention for one month because he appealed to the Gaomi petition office in the summer of 2000. In October 2000 he went to Tiananmen Square to tell the truth about Dafa. He was brought back and sentenced to a labor camp for three years. His family was also forced to pay a fine. They were even asked to sign in at the security office every day. Their daily life was severely disturbed.
Wang Chuanzhen and Zhong Sulan went to Beijing to appeal. They were brought back and tortured at the Gaomi detention center. Each was forced to lie on a large wooden support with only the neck, waist, and feet supported. The rest of the body was suspended. They were forced to lie there for more than 8 hours. They were sent to a labor camp in 2000. Wang Chuanzhen was fined 10,000 Yuan by the Gaomi public security bureau on Dec. 2nd, 1999. She was again fined 1,000 Yuan on Aug. 25th, 2000.
Her work unit expelled Wang Yanying because she practiced Falun Gong, yet afterwards it still detained her many times and fined her 5,000 Yuan. In October 1999 she went to Beijing to appeal. The factory illegally detained her for 21 days. Later she was sent to a detention center and held for 38 days. The director of the factory security office, Lan Yong, body-searched her. In July 2000 the factory once again arrested Wang. After three days of fasting she managed to escape. In October 2000 Lan Yong and Du Shouquan went to Wang's brother's house to search for her but did not find her. They said: "We should have something to say to our boss even if we cannot catch her alive." She was forced to leave home and lead a vagrant's life.
The following is a list of practitioners known to have been sent to labor camps:
Wang Kaicheng, Luan Fangqi, LuanQie, Liu Ruifeng, Wang Chuanzhen, Mao Yongfang, Chen Xiu, Dai Qiuzhen, Sui Qingpeng, Zhang Lei, Xu Zhenghong, Zhang Keming, Zhang Kewen, Mao Xingyue, Mao Guiqing, Zhong Sulan, Ge Xiumei, Wang Ping, and Nie Chuanxia
The most malicious perpetrator in Gaomi is Yuan Chunhui, the director of Kangzhuang police station. Yuan Chunhui viciously tortures practitioners. .
On Oct. 21st, 2000 (lunar calendar), four practitioners from Kangzhuang town (Song Huizhen, Sun Kezhen, Liu Tianxiang, Yang Xiurong) went to Beijing to appeal and were caught by the police. On their way back to their hometown, Yuan Chunhui handcuffed them and hung them up in the train. After they arrived Kangzhuang, Yuan separated the practitioners and interrogated them individually. He beat them on their face and brutally beat them with a one and half yard long ruler. He cursed while he was beating them: "I will make you and your family miserable."
Yuan Chunhui even brought the families of practitioners to the police station. He forced every family member to pay 1,000 Yuan to have a practitioner released. If the family could not pay then the family member would be detained also. The families of Song Huizhen and Liu Tianxiang were detained for one day and one night. The family of Sun Kezhen was detained for 4 days and 4 nights. Because her family could not afford to pay Sun is still detained.
During the detention Yuan Chunhui did not give them enough to eat. They were handcuffed to the bed and had to sit on the ground day and night.
