At 10:00 a.m. on December 17, 2001, several Falun Gong practitioners met with the Director of the Ukraine Foreign Religion Relations Bureau and Vice Chairman of the Ukraine National Religious Affairs Committee.

The Vice Chairman of the Ukraine National Religious Affairs Committee said, "In our country, any spiritual group including Falun Gong is not forbidden."

The meeting lasted about one hour and maintained a friendly atmosphere. The Vice Chairman of the Ukraine National Religious Affairs Committee pointed out that the committee operates in parallel with a similar program in Europe with whom they coordinate concerning the promotion of a religion or spiritual group. The practitioners explained the benefits they received personally as well as those their family received through the practice of Falun Gong. They also shared information about the worldwide support of Falun Gong and the Jiang Zemin regime's brutal persecution of the Falun Gong practitioners in China.

At the end of the meeting, the practitioners gave the committee some truth-clarifying literature, which showed the worldwide support of Falun Gong and further exposed the persecution in China. Both sides agreed to communicate further and exchange information in the future.
