Xiaobali Village in Tangshan City --an Evil Den for Persecuting the Virtuous
Nearly a hundred Falun Dafa practitioners have been detained at the brainwashing school in the village of Xiaobali (located in Fengrun County near the city of Tangshan, Hebei Province). The staff there use various inhuman means including torture with electric batons (cattle prods), beating, kicking, bondage, brutal force-feeding and so on, in attempts to coerce Falun Gong practitioners to give up their cultivation practice. It is well known by the local people, even women and children, that "Bali village" is a place where bad people persecute the good. Villagers living nearby can hear practitioners' blood-curdling screams from the unbearable torture rising from the big courtyard. They hear the yelling and cursing of the evil police as well. Fearing that their evildoings would be exposed, the police recently reinforced the exterior wall and gate. One of them even boasted, "I've got contacts in the underworld. We are brothers. It's no big deal to handle you Falun Gong practitioners!" Day and night, they keep trying to force practitioners to be "brainwashed." How can it be allowed to brainwash those who believe in "Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance" into such degenerates like them?
The reasons why the ruffians at "Bali Village" so furiously persecute Falun Dafa practitioners inhumanly can be summarized as follows. First, they are supported by Jiang Zemin's regime so that they feel secure that they have strong government backing. Second, they profit from doing so. All the practitioners illegally detained here were kidnapped. The ruffians extorted money from practitioners and their families, using the money to go wining, dining, whoring and gambling, committing all kinds of crimes. Some of the practitioners were later sent to labor camps or prisons. Some could not bear the excruciatingly painful torture and were coerced into writing guarantee letters (not to practice Falun Dafa). Their families paid ransoms to get them home. There are still 12 female practitioners detained at Xiaobali Village. Details of the ransoms extorted from some of the practitioners are presented below:
Shen Dexiang, female, was summoned by her factory director on the morning of October 8, 2000 and sent off to Bali Village. Her share in the factory, worth roughly 4,000 yuan (average monthly salary of a worker in cities of China is about 500 yuan) was seized. All of her pension (she retired in November 2000) was taken as well. She was told that they would ask her family for more when they spent all they had already taken from her.
Zhang Muying, female, went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa on December 16, 2000. She was sent to a detention center at Fengrun County. 5,000 yuan was extorted from her family. On March 24, 2001 another 2,000 yuan and an additional 500 yuan for "room and board" were extorted from her family. Later, when she was sent to Xiaobali, her family was forced to pay a further 1,200 yuan for "room and board." At the end of June this year, her family was once again forced to pay 1,600 yuan. In only a few months, the swindlers had extorted more than 10,000 yuan from her.
Liu Jinying, female, paid 5,000 yuan.
Ma Ruijing, female, paid 4,000 yuan.
Yang Yuping, female, was sent to Xiaobali in October 2000. Paid 5,150 yuan with a further 2,495 yuan taken from her pension.
Zhang Yueqin, female, was sent to Xiaobali in June 2001 and paid 5,000 yuan.
Yan Shuhua, female, was sent to "Bali village" in November, 2001. Paid 2,000 yuan in addition to 500 yuan taken by the police who arrested her in Beijing.
Li Mingyan, female, was arrested and sent to "Bali village" after visiting a fellow practitioner on the night of October 10, 2000. Having no money to pay them, the police would not release her, even though she was being held without facing any charge.
Falun Dafa practitioners are persecuted by Jiang Zemin and his followers simply because of their refusal to give up their practice. Kind-hearted people, please open your eyes! Make a clear distinction between right and wrong!
Twelve practitioners currently face indefinite detention at the brainwashing school of Xiaobali Village. Even under the abominable conditions described above, their determination remains unshakable.
