Safeguard Dafa by Resisting the Persecution and Showing Compassion to All Sentient Beings
Recently, I have met many disciples from all over China who came to Tiananmen to validate Dafa and to suffocate the wickedness. I decided to go to Tiananmen too, and to go on New Year's Day.
I went with a fellow practitioner whom I had met five years ago when I first obtained Dafa. We talked about the practitioners that we had known. Some are now in labor camps while others stayed at home and do not dare to come out. We both felt deeply stirred. I felt that if we could survive this day, it would be an honorable thing to go out to validate Dafa and to bring clarification about our Master.
Master has said, "I am rooted in the universe. If anyone can harm you, he or she would be able to harm me. Put simply, that person would be able to harm this universe." (Zhuan Falun, Lecture One, Characteristics of Falun Dafa). "I treat all practitioners as my disciples." (Zhuan Falun, Lecture Three, I Treat All Practitioners as My Disciples.) When I quoted that to my friend, we both wept. Yes, indeed the Master has treated us as disciples, and sees us as enlightened beings. So we have to live up to the standards of a Dafa disciple, a particle of Dafa and a future guardian of the universe. When the wicked wrongdoers mistreat us, it's a manifestation of their persecution of Dafa and our Master. When we go out to stop their persecution, it is a refusal of mistreatment of ourselves. This refusal itself is the process of eliminating the wrongdoing. I decided to safeguard Dafa with my life and to pass this test well.
At 9:30 AM, we arrived at Qianmen, and entered Tiananmen Square from the west side. Before arriving at the Memorial Hall, we saw a 50 year old practitioner about 10 meters away holding up a yellow Dafa banner because he had been stopped and was being interrogated by the police. He shouted, "Falun Dafa is good," and "Falun Dafa is a righteous principle." A couple of cops caught him and pushed him into the police vehicle.
When we arrived at the west-side of the Memorial, I noticed a few cops interrogating the passers by. At the same time, a young practitioner held a banner and ran toward the Conference Hall while chanting "Falun Dafa is good."
When we arrived at the flagpole, I heard the same "Falun Dafa is good" from the east-side of the flagpole. After taking a few more steps I saw a female practitioner holding up a banner as well. I thought that this was our most opportune moment. When I saw another practitioner holding a banner on the west-side, my friend and I took out a 1.5 meter long banner that read, "Falun Dafa's principles are righteous." And we exclaimed, "Falun Dafa is good."
My friend shouted, "Clarify our Master's reputation."
It was about 9:45 AM. The cops came up to us very quickly. I held onto the banner and continuously shouted, "Falun Dafa is good." They kicked and punched me continuously, but I held the banner up again while my friend started tossing out flyers. They dragged me to the cars, but I felt that I should not let the wicked persecute us as they please, so I pressed my head against the car to keep them from dragging me in. When I tried to do that again they pulled me into the van. There were a few practitioners already in the van.
A female practitioner at the back end of the car opened the window and held a small banner toward the window while shouting, "Falun Dafa is good."
A cop started to go over to her, but I stood in front of him and said, "I can sincerely tell you that Falun Dafa's principles are righteous. Don't do any more harm for Jiang Zemin."
A few more practitioners were pushed into the car, and some cops started beating them. So we shouted, "Stop the beating! Stop the beating! Why are the 'people's police' beating the people?" I stepped between them and blocked them from beating the practitioners.
We were sent to the Tiantan Division. There were about 200 practitioners being held there. They were all shouting, "Dafa is good," "Clarify our Master's reputation," "Suffocate the Evil," etc. The cruel cops continuously beat the practitioners, while other practitioners would try to stop them. My friend was bleeding from the beatings. Later we started reciting "Hong Yin" and "Lunyu," as we held up a three-meter long banner that read "Zhen Shan Ren," and various smaller banners.
A practitioner said to everyone, "We have to use a righteous mind toward our later tribulations."
And I said, "We have to safeguard Dafa using our lives; suffocate and eliminate the wickedness." The cops started packing us into a bus. As we were waiting in line at the front door, I said to four militia-cops, "I hope that you can remember that Falun Dafa's principles are righteous."
We were packed into the bus. To prevent people from seeing us, the cops forced us to sit on the floor with our legs folded under the seats. I thought that I shouldn't follow this form of torture so I refused to sit on the floor. A few cops came, and began punching and kicking me. After a short struggle, I was pressed against the floor. One cop had his foot on my face while another cop stepped on my leg as he kicked me. Later, they released my foot so I struggled to stand up. But then they kicked me down again. Once again I felt that I shouldn't be so passive and let them torture me like that. So I stood up again, and this time they didn't stop me. I thought that I should be compassionate to people even when I am suffering, so I said to a cop in front of me, "I am telling you with all my heart that Falun Dafa's principles are righteous." Another cop next to me then slapped my face. The cop I talked to was impatient and told me to stop as well. I felt disappointed and still feel extreme pity for them because maybe they don't have any more chances in their lives and are doomed. So I stopped saying it. They beat another practitioner for saying that Falun Dafa is good. The cops even wrapped his head with clothing until we arrived at our destination.
When we arrived, the sign on the building read, "Mentougou Division." I thought that if I could not walk out this place alive, then I would rather lay dead. I was pushed into a cafeteria and ordered to squat. I refused and a few cops came up and wrestled me to a sitting position. They asked me where I came from. I didn't answer them, and they wrote "18" on a piece of paper. They told me to hold it and I refused to do that either. So they held me by my hair and wrote "18" on my forehead and on my back. They then dragged me over to be photographed. I didn't want to follow their orders so I closed my eyes and made strange faces at the camera. They lied, saying that it was all done, but I still didn't open my eyes. They told me to sit and I resisted, but they forced me to sit. I also refused their strip search, but a few cops beat me, and then stripped me by force.
We were then sent to the front door to be separated. Cops from different places came to take practitioners back to their home cities. When they called "18" I refused to answer. Later, a cop from some city came to me and told me to sit in the back. I didn't want to follow the orders, so I pushed my head against the car. They quickly dragged me away, and I struggled to push my head against the car once more.
They said, "We can't take this one, send him back." So they sent me back. They ordered me to squat again, but I refused that as well. A wicked cop came over and tried to wrestle with me. Another cop told him to forget it, and I was allowed to stand.
So I was the only person whom they didn't know where to send. They took me back to the cafeteria, searched me and took away a scripture that I had with me. I told them that I would die in front of them if they didn't return it. They pressed me against the ground, two people stepping on my hands, two stepping on my legs and one holding my hair. One cop, while holding the Master's scripture, said, "I'll give it to you if you tell me where you got it." I didn't answer, so he ripped up the scripture.
I was very upset over that and I said, "What you are doing is wrong!" I felt that I should die to redeem for my failure to protect the scripture, and I bumped my head against the concrete floor. I succeeded three times, until they put their feet under my head to prevent it. I was weeping with much grief.
Later, they took me beside a car, and asked me, "Do you want to go home?" I said, "I want to go back to my real home." They pushed me into the car, drove me to the countryside, and told me to sign a paper. I refused that, and they took my finger, forcibly pressed it against the paper to make a fingerprint, and then let me go. It was about 2 PM when I was finally released.
After this experience, I understood what the Master said, "If a cultivator can let go of the thought of life and death under any circumstances, evil is bound to be afraid of him." (Eliminate Your Last Attachment(s)). When we are facing suppression from the wicked, and if we allow it to continue, we are actually letting the wickedness grow. It will continue to grow and to suppress us. This is actually doing harm to Dafa. So if we use our lives to stop them, are we not actually safeguarding Dafa and thus being compassionate to all sentient beings, including our oppressors?
