Whenever the Chinese President is mentioned, ordinary citizens in China all say the same thing, "Jiang Zemin's main problem is that he does not have a clear understanding of who he is. He's ridiculous." Jiang Zemin cares a lot about a person's historical legacy. In recent years, he has taken every opportunity to indulge in unbridled propaganda thereby establishing his personal image as having absolute power. However, what he doesn't understand, is that those illustrious kings and rulers, who were unparalleled in the history of the world, all showed great virtue towards their people. All of Jiang's little accomplishments were the results of "trees planted by previous generations." If one already finds it difficult to measure how much virtue President Jiang had in the past, one can now clearly see which category he belongs to when viewing his actions of rejecting other opinions and deciding to persecute Falun Gong at all costs. One can see his frivolous conduct over the past year, when he launched his attack on Falun Gong, and boasted smugly something like "Wouldn't it be a big joke if atheism cannot overcome theism?" (Editors note: The Communist Party values atheism. One can also see this from the time he chose to initiate the attack: i.e. two months before the grand celebrations of China's 50th anniversary. He wouldn't have dared to do it this way if he knew in advance how indomitable and determined the Falun Gong practitioners are. The people in China couldn't understand his actions at the beginning and thought he was "overacting" on the issue of Falun Gong. They were wondering, "Why does he have to bother those elderly men and women doing their exercises." Later on, people began to gradually understand the true reasons when they saw Jiang Zemin fighting desperately against Falun Gong. As the General Secretary (of the Communist Party), Jiang is in charge of a large organization and he is having trouble keeping it from falling apart. There are all kinds of things happening today, such as the so-called "political sessions and ideological study" (Editors note: The Communist Party begins all new political "campaigns" by holding political sessions and having party members undertake ideological study to understand and implement the Party's directives), rampant corruption, degeneration of morality, pleasure seeking in all vices such as alcoholism, prostitution and gambling, and the savage oppression of the people. The members of the Party are doing whatever they want. We will not make it our business to list all of their transgressions, however at the very least, it is has become difficult for them to distinguish themselves from how bad those enemies were in the past. By examining the issue deeper, we will find it becomes directly related to Falun Gong. The foundation of Falun Gong is "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance." Falun Gong practitioners genuinely strive to become "good people and better people," and a great number of people within the Communist Party, who wanted to be good, also voluntarily became Falun Gong practitioners and good people. However, this was prohibited as it was considered to be an effort of "trying to win people away from the Party." Therefore, Jiang Zemin's persecution against Falun Gong is not based upon any misunderstanding. He knows clearly that Falun Gong practitioners are good people. The reason for the persecution is precisely because they are good people. Falun Gong is too righteous. Therefore, anything evil will come out to make slanderous remarks. The most vicious ones will attack brutally. A Chinese cliché states it correctly, "Evil can never suppress righteousness." When evil wants to suppress righteousness, the techniques they use are bound to be evil. This becomes clear when we look at the history of what Jiang Zemin did to persecute Falun Gong, over the past year. He followed a common pattern of attack: "starting with spreading rumors and then following by utilizing the machinery of a dictatorship." If Jiang Zemin used righteousness to attack, wouldn't he be speaking the same language as Falun Gong?! As a result, the rumors against Falun Gong have never been stopped and new ones are continuously fabricated. Many government officials at different levels could foresee the fate of this ill-advised campaign from their experience in previous political movements, and did not want to participate. Jiang Zemin had had to be the vanguard every step of the way, which only indicates his isolated and unfavorable situation. We can see that during the APEC Summit in New Zealand last September, he shamelessly handed out anti-Falun Gong books to the leaders of other countries, including the U.S. President. Jiang Zemin's petty actions uncovered all pretenses and astounded the western diplomats. They could not stop laughing in private. We can also see that a few days ago, during the interview with Mr. Wallace on CBS, Jiang Zemin made-up pure fabrications on the issue of Falun Gong. Then after he went back to China he did not dare to make public what he had said. Jiang has been the chief director and played a leading role on the issue of persecuting Falun Gong. Over the past year, only the dregs of society have been willing to follow him and they will be completely abandoned by social justice and human morality. The creation of this situation can only be considered the result of Jiang's jealousy, fear, superstition, hatred and maliciousness. From last year's vigorous campaign of persecution to every stage of deployment, everything was based on and motivated by Jiang Zemin's speeches. These speeches alone are enough to constitute the undeniable evidence for convicting Jiang Zemin for violating the Chinese constitution. This evidence was distributed in the form of secret documents to various State-owned work units. If anyone has doubts, we can gather them together and these secretly issued documents, from the central government, will be a large bundle. Any further denial or excuses will be negated. Yet on the other hand, the persecutors have provided opportunities for many people to position their consciences and very beings for the future. Every debt has its debtor. When the time for justice draws near, a familiar Chinese saying states, "Whoever started the trouble should end it." September 15, 2000
