On November 20, 2000, the mayor of Durham, North Carolina, U.S.A., proclaimed November 25 as "Falun Dafa Day".

In autumn of 1996, Falun Dafa came to this beautiful city. Since then, on every Sunday in scenic Duke Gardens in Duke University, there has always been a group of peaceful practitioners from all walks of life, including Chinese, American, Vietnamese, South American and African.

Herald-Sun, the largest newspaper in Durham, gave two full and positive reports on Falun Dafa. The campus newspaper in Duke also interviewed practitioners and gave reports on it. WTVD-11 (ABC News) TV station had a three-minute report on Falun Dafa as local news.

Duke University Chronical:In Search of Inner Peace

Local practitioners actively spread Falun Dafa to the community. In 1999, they participated in a parade, which was the biggest one in the local area in recent years.

As WTVD-11 (ABC News) reported, "Although China is persecuting Falun Gong, Truthfulness, Benevolence and Forbearance certainly have a safe home here. ." The beautiful city of Durham will be blessed.
