Why Does Jiang Zemin Fear Falun Gong?

The Chinese Constitution has been scorned; the state system has been given no consideration; all disagreements have been disregarded, policies were made to suppress Falun Gong. The fact that millions of citizens have been appealing in a peaceful manner has been ignored; wrong political decisions were made one after another; government departments have been compelled to violate laws and rules to inhumanely persecute Falun Gong practitioners. Hundreds of thousands of kindhearted citizens, who have faith in "truthfulness, compassion, and forbearance", have been detained and jailed; more than 50 people have died after being subjected to government sanctioned torture; torture has been used nationwide; policemen have acted like thugs. However, none of these criminals or corrupted officials has been brought to justice. In the past year, the attitude that Jiang Zemin has toward Falun Gong has been so irrational. Behind the brutal persecution hides his unspeakably guilty conscience and fear. Why is Jiang Zemin afraid of Falun Gong? One reason is because he is superstitious. 1. A well-informed source disclosed that Jiang Zemin said, in private, that the Chinese Consulate in Yugoslavia was bombed by Falun Gong. He implied that the founder of Falun Gong did that by using supernormal power. Then what is the basis of making this statement? After the "April 25th" incident, Jiang Zemin believed that his position and political power were threatened and challenged. He made up his mind to eradicate Falun Gong. Unexpectedly, the Chinese Consulate in Yugoslavia was bombed, which forced him to defer the crackdown. Confused and restless, Jiang Zemin, privately, inferred a ridiculous belief that the founder of Falun Gong bombed the Chinese Consulate to disrupt his plan to crackdown on Falun Gong. Thus he was anxious to eradicate Falun Gong, which he considered a big threat to his political power. Such irrational thinking at the highest level of state caused severe consequences. The death of more than 50 Falun Gong practitioners was one of them. The massive use of torture and inhumane treatment toward Falun Gong practitioners another. 2. According to their internal news, by the end of 1999 Jiang Zemin said to his subordinates that if they could not eradicate Falun Gong within 3 months they would not be able to know how their heads would be removed. He meant that there existed some supernormal power that would separate their heads from their bodies. He has said similar things on different occasions, which shows his fear. People are confused and wondering: Haven' the newspapers, controlled by Jiang Zemin, been telling one-sided stories to prove that Falun Gong could not cure illnesses? Haven' the TV stations been criticizing Falun Gong for promoting superstition? These were used to comfort Jiang Zemin' fear. Won' policies made on the basis of the leader' ignorance and irrationality lead the nation and its citizens to danger and disaster? 3. Jiang' body quivers whenever he hears Falun Gong and dodges whenever he sees Falun Gong practitioners. That was how he reacted when he was in New York to attend the World Summit and saw Falun Gong practitioners. Falun Gong practitioners have nothing to hide. They are honest and compassionate. Even when they have been mistreated in China they still do not fight back. Would a normal person be afraid of a group of peaceful and honest people? Jiang Zemin' over reaction makes people feel that he is too irrational to reason with. In the 21st century people are longing for freedom and peace and wish to live in an environment that has high moral standards and good social order. No one would like to, or want their children to, live in a nightmare filled with corruption, deception, and violence. Falun Gong practitioners believe in truthfulness, compassion, and forbearance and they have conducted themselves to be good people and have made the world a better place to live. How could they be so mistreated? People who know the truth about Falun Gong have asked: Why does Jiang Zemin have such an irrational fear of Falun Gong? How could he so viciously attack Falun Gong? There are so many reasons and different people have different ideas. I think it is because of Jiang Zemin' superstition – he has been captivated by his own illusions and stubbornly believes that Falun Gong threatens his political power. He' rather be controlled by his groundless fears than rational thoughts. He believes that the way to eliminate his fear is to eliminate Falun Gong. Otherwise he could not completely prove that he has the power. With such fallacy, an ordinary person would bring misfortune to his family. With such fallacy, the leader of a nation has set up 100 million peaceful practitioners as his political enemies and consequently has brought severe disasters to his nation. Unease derived from longing for political power, pressures derived from a dictatorship, and fears derived from superstition have made Jiang Zemin suffer. In fact, the unrealistic and groundless prejudice is very frightening. Jiang Zemin' fear of Falun Gong has led to his brutal crackdown. 09/21/2000

Immediately Stop the Persecution of Falun Gong

To The Chinese Embassy and the Chinese Government Leadership: Since July of 1999, when Jiang Zeming and his followers senselessly cracked down on Falun Gong, the situation in China has become increasingly severe. According to the latest news, someone has plotted to launch a larger-scale suppression of Falun Gong around the Chinese National Day (October 1), and claimed that Falun Gong will be thoroughly eradicated within three months. Therefore, all Falun Gong practitioners overseas express extreme indignation and the most serious concerns. Jiang Zemin and those like him, due to their arrogance, selfishness and ignorance, have conspired, directed and played the tragedy of the largest scale known in human history. According to current, incomplete statistics, more than 50 Falun Gong practitioners have died following maltreatment while in police custody, over 500 practitioners have been illegally sentenced to prison terms, over 5,000 practitioners have been sent to forced labor camps without trial, some 600 practitioners have been forcibly committed to mental hospitals, tens of thousands of innocent practitioners have been repeatedly detained, and tens of millions of ordinary practitioners of Falun Gong have been enduring extremely brutal mental and physical torture in the past fourteen months. Jiang Zemin and his followers' suppression of Falun Gong has entirely violated the Chinese constitution and related laws. Their actions have brutally trampled the basic human rights acknowledged by the international community. They have severely damaged the positive image of China' reform and opening up -- an image that the Chinese government has painstakingly promoted over the past 20 plus years. Their persecution of Falun Gong has caused a major setback in the progress of Chinese history, and brought an irretrievable catastrophe to the whole country. Jiang Zemin himself will forever be condemned by all the kind-hearted people, and he will forever be considered a great shame in history. "Peace and Progress" should be a big trend in the world. The Chinese people have already suffered many hardships and tribulations, and they have just emerged from a painful history filled with wounds and injuries. They are now putting all their efforts to develop and reconstruct the country. Since Falun Gong was made known to the general public by Mr. Li Hongzhi, in Mainland China in 1992, over one hundred million people have become physically healthy and morally upgraded. They should have been the mainstays in supporting and facilitating the country' development and reconstruction, and they should have also been respected, protected and regarded as a great blessing to the country. However, Jiang Zemin and his followers single-handedly exhausted all their measures and focused all their efforts to go against the will of the people of the world, launching a frenzied suppression of Falun Gong. They have ruined the promising future of the Chinese people, and created the most harrowing injustice in Chinese history. Over the past fourteen months, Jiang Zemin and his followers have mobilized, tempted and coerced the entire country' propaganda machinery -- the police force, spies, courts, prisons, forced labor camps, drug-rehabilitation institutions, psychiatric hospitals -- to slander, smear and brutally crack down on Falun Gong. They have weakened the whole country, putting it into a miserable state. As the leader of a country, Jiang Zemin has been seriously negligent in his duties. He has allowed the growing corruption and crimes to run rampant in society, and has disregarded the needs of the country and its people. Even worse, he has punished the righteous and advocated the evil, and brutally persecuted the ordinary citizens who practice Falun Gong. These are people with lofty morals who have entrusted themselves to the government. Therefore, it is inevitable that Jiang Zemin will be punished by justice and fair law. At the same time, the absurd suppression of Falun Gong has seriously damaged the Chinese government' reputation in the world. Over the past year, Jiang Zemin and his followers have gone all out to spread lies and rumors and vilify Falun Gong around the world. Yet, no other governments have followed the Chinese government to ban or suppress Falun Gong. On the contrary, many countries and leaders have openly condemned and criticized the criminal act of suppressing Falun Gong. Furthermore, Falun Gong has constantly received awards and recognition from various countries and regions. The people around the world have gradually realized the physical and spiritual well-being that the principles of "Zhen (Truthfulness), Shan (Compassion), Ren (Tolerance)" advocated by Falun Gong have brought to people . They have acknowledged, understood and supported Falun Gong, and some of them have even become practitioners of Falun Gong. However, under such circumstances, Jiang Zemin, in the name of the Chinese government, has widely pronounced that "The present time is the best period of human rights in Chinese history." He concocted lies and spread rumors in front of the world media. These despicable tactics of a shameless dictator have been ridiculed and despised by the international community. The Chinese National Day is drawing near. Jiang Zemin and his followers are attempting again to use such an opportunity to launch and escalate a new round of large-scale arrests and suppression of Falun Gong practitioners. However, Falun Dafa practitioners are firmly holding on to the principles of "Zen (Truthfulness), Shan (Compassion), Ren (Tolerance)". Their determination to protect the Fa (the laws and principles of the universe) using great compassion and upright conduct, is unshakable by any vile forces. We hereby appeal to the Chinese government and all the people in the government who still have conscience to distinguish clearly the essence of the evil. We ask them, for the sake of the country' future and its people, to safeguard truth and justice by standing up and stopping the evil deeds of Jiang Zemin and his followers. This will bring good fortune to the country and its people. History will remember your great contributions. The truth of the universe will fairly evaluate all sentient beings.
