(Minghui.org) Eight residents in Linzhang County, Hebei Province were arrested on September 12, 2026, while studying the teachings of Falun Gong together. Four of them remain detained.

Only a few minutes after the eight practitioners started the study session at around 8:10 p.m. in the store owned by Mr. Song Zhenhai and his wife, Ms. Wang Qiufen, two officers from the Nadongfang Town Police Station barged in. The police took photos of the practitioners and demanded to know their names.

More officers soon arrived. They raided the second floor of the store, where the study session was taking place, and confiscated the practitioners’ Falun Gong books, a printer, cellphones, and all the cash in the store.

Mr. Song and Ms. Wang’s five-year-old granddaughter, who was present, was terrified. After the police shoved Mr. Song into the police car, the little girl burst into tears, and clung to Ms. Wang’s leg when the police tried to take her away. The police then ordered the girl’s mother to pick her up and then took Ms. Wang away.

Ms. Liu Meihua felt dizzy at Mr. Song’s store and couldn’t walk. The police called in an ambulance. After finding that she had elevated blood pressure, they called her son to pick her up.

While en-route to the police station, Ms. Ren Junxia managed to escape.

After one day of detention, Ruiqin (last name unknown) and Ms. Duan (first name unknown) were released due to their advanced age. Ms. Liu Xingzhi and Ms. Wang Junxiang were both given ten days of administrative detention. Mr. Song and Ms. Wang Qiufen were placed under criminal detention. Ms. Wang Qiufen was admitted to the Handan City Third Detention Center, but Mr. Song’s location is unknown.

Mr. Song’s daughter went to the Linzhang County Police Department to inquire about their case on September 14. The police returned 2,000 yuan of the cash confiscated from him.
