(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners from the Kentucky area joined over 300 groups in Jeffersontown’s Gaslight Festival from September 18 to 20, 2026.

The annual street party began in the late 1960s, after an antique gas streetlamp was discovered during the renovation of the Old Town Square. Subsequently, the area was adorned with a series of reproduction gas lamps and named Gaslight Square.

Many people stopped at the Falun Dafa booth to watch the exercise demonstrations, look at the informational materials, and speak with practitioners about the spiritual discipline, which is based on the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance.

Quite a few visitors signed the petition to help bring an end to the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution of the practice in China.

Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance Are “Crucial”

The first day of the event was hit by thunderstorms. A family of five took shelter from the rain in the Falun Gong booth and were happy to learn the exercises. They also listened to a practitioner’s sharing about the mind-body practice, and gladly accepted some introductory materials.

The sun came out the next day and the colorful paper lotus flowers hanging at the booth entrance attracted people of all ages. One of the visitors was touched by the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and said, “These three words are crucial. Every one of us needs them.”

Many watched the live exercise demonstrations and commented on the harmonious atmosphere.

People Sign Petition to Stop Live Forced Organ Harvesting

Event attendees learned how popular Falun Dafa became in China after its introduction to the public in 1992, which led to the Chinese regime launching a brutal crackdown in 1999. Practitioners also raised awareness about the CCP’s state-sanctioned forced organ harvesting, and collected petition signatures to end the human rights atrocities.

During the three-day event, there was a continuous stream of visitors at the Falun Dafa booth, with many interested in learning about the practice and concerned about the persecution practitioners are facing in China.
