(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in 10 provinces, where at least 22 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Mr. Wei Changbao and his wife, Ms. Liu Changqin, were arrested in a police sweep on November 20, 2025, by police officers from Mengyin County and Yinan County. The officers seized many personal items and over 500,000 yuan in cash. Mr. Wei has been held in the Mengyin County Detention Center and Ms. Liu in the Linyi City Detention Center. They were scheduled to appear in the Yinan County Court on May 20, 2026.
Ms. Xu, first name unknown, and Ms. Cheng, in her 80s, first name unknown, were arrested in their respective homes on May 11, 2026, by Hongshan Police Department officers and community clerks. The officers were not in uniform and did not present any photo IDs or badges. They seized the practitioners’ Falun Gong books, computers, and other items. Both women are being held in a local lockup.
Ms. Liu Junmei, 64, was arrested on May 8, 2026, by officers from the Shuncheng District Police Department and the Changchun Police Station who were staking out her home. They ransacked her place and seized her Falun Gong books, computers, and other items. She was placed under criminal detention.
Ms. Yang Dongxiang and her husband, Mr. Zhou Hongda, were arrested at home on May 12, 2026, and taken to the Wuchang District Detention Center. Mr. Zhou was denied admission because of his health. He is currently in Hanyang Hospital and being monitored by the authorities.
Ms. Ding Yan has been missing since mid-December 2025.
Ms. Chen Hong and Ms. Sun, first name unknown, were arrested by local police and community clerks. Ms. Sun was released the same day. Ms. Chen has been detained ever since.
Mr. Hu Guangli and Ms. Jiang Yunchang were harassed on May 15, 2026. Li Xiaoli and others at the Yingzhou District Justice Bureau tried to take photos of them, but the two refused to cooperate.
Ms. Guo Yunying’s home was ransacked on May 13, 2026, by officers Li Hui, Wu Hui, and three others from the Wanzai County Domestic Security Division. They seized her Falun Gong books, a picture of Falun Gong’s founder, music players, an mp3, memory cards, cash, clothes, and other items.
Ms. Zhang Zhenyun was arrested on May 14, 2026, by officer Jin Hai and others from the Xiangcheng City Domestic Security Division.
Mr. Zhu Chengqian, 62, was arrested at work on March 1, 2026, by officers from the Jinzhou District Domestic Security Division and the local police station. They ransacked his apartment and seized his Falun Gong books, two notebook computers, cash, and other items. His family searched for him after losing contact with him. They finally confirmed that he was being held in the Jinzhou District Detention Center and hired a lawyer for him.
The lawyer went to the procuratorate twice to review his case files but was told that his case was still in the Jinzhou Domestic Security Division. When the lawyer then went to the security division, the officer there refused to give him any information.
Ms. Zhao Shuqing, 76, talked to a driver about the persecution of Falun Gong on the morning of May 12, 2026. The driver reported her to the Qingchi Police Station and led three officers to arrest her. While Ms. Zhao was being held at the police station, four officers ransacked her home and seized her Falun Gong books. She was released that afternoon.
Ms. Li Caijun was arrested at home on May 14, 2026, by officer Fu Mingshu and others. Her home was ransacked.
On October 9, 2025, the Wangcang County Political and Legal Affairs Committee ordered officers from the county police department, domestic security division, police stations, and community offices to harass Falun Gong practitioners on its blacklist. Practitioners Wang Guofang, Bian Lixian, Zhang Shufang, Tan Ping, and Yin Qingli were confirmed to have been harassed. Tan was taken to the police department for interrogation and released the same day. Bian has been sentenced to a year in prison and is being held in the Wangcang County Detention Center.
