(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 15 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Chengde City, Hebei Province] Ms. Chen Fengxia’s Trial Scheduled
Ms. Chen Fengxia’s trial was scheduled for April 28, 2026, by the Shuangqiao District Court.
2. [Zhuozhou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Jia Fengmin Arrested
Ms. Jia Fengmin was arrested on April 19, 2026, when she was talking to shoppers at a street market. The police ransacked her home and confiscated a satellite dish that she used to receive overseas TV programs.
3. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Five Practitioners Arrested
Ms. Zhu Yulan, Ms. Lin Haiying, Gao Yun, and Zhang were arrested at Mr. Yuan Decun’s home on April 15, 2026, when they were studying the Falun Gong teachings together. Over 10 plainclothes officers ransacked Mr. Yuan’s home and took the five practitioners to the Xinying Police Station.
The police forcibly collected the practitioners’ fingerprints, blood samples, and other biometrics. Both Mr. Yuan and Ms. Lin were released. The situation of the other three practitioners is unknown.
4. [Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Liu Wenhua Detained
Liu Wenhua, gender unknown, was arrested at home on March 19, 2026, by the Shuangta Police Department officers who had been tailing her. Her home was ransacked. She is being held at the Chaoyang City Detention Center.
5. [Yingtan City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Liu Chang’e Abused in Prison
Ms. Liu Chang’e, about 73, a bank retiree, was arrested on November 29, 2021, for talking to passengers about the persecution of Falun Going on a city bus. She was detained at the Yingtan Detention Center for nearly a year and sentenced to four years and three months in prison. She was admitted to the Jiangxi Province Women’s Prison on November 15, 2022, and released at the end of January 2026.
While serving time in prison, the inmates slapped her in the face, gagged her with a rag, and wrote abusive words on her bed sheet and blanket. She was splashed with water daily for several months. They only gave her a mouthful or a spoonful of rice for every meal, and sometimes starved her completely. She was also restricted from taking showers and was not given toilet paper. Sometimes the inmates wet her bed sheets and would throw her sweater into the toilet. She was denied visits with her family throughout her prison term, and they were only allowed to call her once.
In addition to her latest ordeal, Ms. Liu was also given two terms at the Jiangxi Province Women’s Labor Camp between 2002 and 2009, and another four-year term at the Jiangxi Province Women’s Prison in 2014.
6. [Longkou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wu Fengzhen Detained
Ms. Wu Fengzhen was arrested on July 17, 2025. She was detained for seven months at the Yantai Detention Center and was released on February 16, 2026. Officers from the Domestic Security Division forced her to write a statement renouncing Falun Gong.
7. [Chongqing] Ms. Jin Xuezhi Detained
Ms. Jin Xuezhi, nearly 70 years old, was arrested on April 3, 2026, by the Tiangongdian Police Station officers, after someone reported her for distributing Falun Gong flyers. The officers took her home, forced her to open the door, and ransacked the place. They confiscated her Falun Gong books and printouts, a picture of the founder of Falun Gong, an incense burner, and other items. They then brought her to the police station. The next night, she was admitted to the Qingmuguan Drug Rehabilitation Center and was detained for five days.
8. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Li Guozhong Detained
Mr. Li Guozhong, in his 60s, was photographed by the captain of the Guoyuan Police Station when he was talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong in the Songxuexinzhuang Street Market on April 16, 2026. The police arrested him the next day and ransacked his home. He was held at the Tangshan City Second Detention Center and released on the evening of April 19.
9. [Dehui City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Yafang and Her Family Harassed
Ms. Wang Yafang and her family faced constant harassment between March and December 2025 by the Jianshe Police Station officers. They lived in fear and were under tremendous mental distress.
10. [Deyang City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Cai Shangyu Released from Prison
Ms. Cai Shangyu was released on April 6, 2026, after completing a prison term.
11. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yan Jingqiu Detained
Ms. Yan Jingqiu was arrested on March 14, 2026, by the Jinhulu Police Station officers. Her family received her arrest warrant by mail two weeks later.
