(Minghui.org) On May 10, 2026, on the heartwarming occasion of Mother’s Day, Falun Gong practitioners from Taoyuan, Hsinchu, and Miaoli gathered at Fenghe Park in Taoyuan, Taiwan, to celebrate World Falun Dafa Day.

In addition to cultural performances, the event featured a “Path of Righteousness” photo exhibition, and the opportunity to learn the Falun Gong exercises. Many members of the public stopped to join the exercises, listen to the peaceful and melodious music, and experience the tranquility and beauty of Falun Dafa’s principles of Truth, Compassion, and Forbearance.

On May 10, 2026, practitioners gathered at Fenghe Park in Taoyuan to celebrate World Falun Dafa Day. Visitors stopped at the informational displays and booths to learn about Falun Gong.

People try out the exercises in the demonstration area.

The parent-child game challenge zone is bustling with activity.

Young practitioners pose happily for a group photo, holding balloons that read “The World Needs Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance,” to give to people.

The event was warm and welcoming, with many participants bringing their families along. Ms. Dong attended the event with her husband, Mr. Wan, who is a practitioner. Speaking about the changes in her husband since he began cultivating, she expressed deep emotion. She noted that his personality had become much gentler; he no longer insisted on being a “macho man,” and the couple had grown more understanding and tolerant of one another.

“I feel like he’s very considerate of me in every way, and our marriage has become much more harmonious—we don’t argue over trivial matters,” she said. She added that trust and respect are the most important things in a marriage, that her husband gives her plenty of space, and they support each other in pursuing their own interests.

Ms. Dong attended the celebration alongside her husband, a Falun Gong practitioner.

With interpersonal relationships in modern society becoming increasingly strained, Ms. Dong encouraged more people to learn about Falun Gong. She says she often introduces Falun Gong to her family and friends, and those around her appreciate the atmosphere of peace and harmony it brings.

“In the environment of Falun Gong, everyone feels very peaceful; there is no violence, and people put others before themselves—this mindset is very important.” She believes that while the spirit of “putting others before oneself” is not easy to practice, simply being willing to strive toward this goal is a good start.

Ms. Dong said that she has watched her husband practice Falun Dafa for nearly 30 years and sometimes accompanies him to events. She jokingly refers to herself as a “friend of Falun Gong.” Although she has not yet formally begun practicing, she has always supported the practice spiritually.

“I know all five sets of exercises, but I don’t do them quite right,” she said with a smile, adding that she hopes to one day become a true practitioner. Nevertheless, the principles of Falun Gong have long been deeply integrated into her life.

When asked about her children’s views on her husband’s practice, Ms. Dong said that they were all very supportive and also believed it to be an excellent form of spiritual practice. She said earnestly, “Spiritual practice doesn’t necessarily have to take place in a temple; it’s about the heart—cultivating a gentle and compassionate heart.”

Members of the Public Support Religious Freedom and the Principles of Falun Gong

Mr. Wu, a member of the public, said that although he had not previously had a deep understanding of Falun Gong, he had heard that the practice was being suppressed in mainland China. He believes that religious belief is a personal freedom that should be respected.

“Taiwan is a place that respects religious freedom and is relatively more democratic,” he said, adding that compared to mainland China, where Falun Gong is persecuted, the two places demonstrate completely different social attitudes.

Local Mr. Xu, who is nearly 70, was out for a walk when he passed by the event site and stopped to watch. He noted that in mainland China, due to authoritarian rule, people are not allowed to practice Falun Gong, whereas Taiwan is a society that values religious freedom and diversity, creating a stark contrast.

Seeing the three characters “Truth, Compassion, Forbearance” on the banners, he remarked with deep emotion, “Society today truly needs this kind of spirit.” He believes that if people could show more sincerity, kindness, and tolerance toward one another, society would become more harmonious and stable.

Mr. Huang and his son were attracted by the performance of the song “Singing ‘Falun Dafa Is Good’ to Let the Whole World Know,” and they stopped to enjoy the music, with both father and son gently tapping their feet.

He remarked that the atmosphere was lively and warm. When the conversation turned to the persecution of Falun Gong in China, Mr. Huang admitted that he found it difficult to comprehend, saying, “It is a good thing for people to have faith—and believing in ‘Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance’ is even more so.” He said that striving to hold oneself to such kind and positive principles is a truly excellent endeavor.

Ms. Liao, who works in design, visited the exercise demonstration area and the photo exhibition with her young son. She listened attentively as practitioners talked about the exercises and the persecution, while carefully looking at the display panels.

She said that the Falun Gong exercises struck her as being very special. When she learned that some of the large-scale character formations in the photo exhibition were created by more than 5,000 practitioners working together, she was even more surprised and deeply moved. “When I looked closely, I saw that it was truly all formed by people—it was incredibly moving.” In addition to the exercises, when practitioners pointed to the photos and introduced the book Zhuan Falun, she listened intently, nodding in response from time to time, and showed a keen interest in Falun Dafa.

This Mother's Day, Fenghe Park was not only brimming with joy and blessings, but also allowed many visitors to experience the peace and benevolence of “Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance.”
