(Minghui.org) Dafa practitioners in Germany held events at Potsdamer Platz and Brandenburg Gate in Berlin on May 9-10, 2026 to celebrate the 27th World Falun Dafa Day.

Practitioners demonstrated the five exercises of Falun Dafa, also known as Falun Gong, at the popular Potsdamer Platz (Potsdam Square). Many passersby stopped to watch. Some took photos and spoke with practitioners to learn more.

A waist drum team dressed in traditional Chinese clothing presented energetic performances, and spectators clapped along to the drum beats with warm applause after each performance.

Plenty of passersby expressed interest in Falun Gong after learning about the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, and the self-cultivation aspect of the practice. Many were appalled upon learning about the ongoing persecution by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and signed a petition calling for an end to the human rights abuse.

Passersby Stop to Learn More

A woman from Venezuela appeared moved after experiencing the event. She told a practitioner that many people in the world seem very cold nowadays, but she felt warm there. She said that this kind of practice that benefits body and mind is great, and that it is important to believe in the divine and be a good person.

She said that Falun Gong’s principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance made her feel uplifted, and that these values are beneficial to society and helpful to people. She said traditional culture is important, as only with a cultural foundation and moral elevation will people see through the chaos in society. She mentioned that she saw Shen Yun in Berlin this year, and that this brought her great inspiration and she felt benefited by it.

She said that she left Venezuela because there is no freedom there. She knew about the CCP’s persecution and said that communism has been destructive to humanity. For this reason, she signed the petition calling for an end to the persecution.

Chinese Students Learn About Falun Gong

Two young students from China, who are currently studying science and engineering in Germany, spoke to a practitioner for over an hour, and asked many questions.

At first, they were surprised that so many Westerners also practice Falun Gong, and wanted to know more about the practice. The practitioner answered each of their questions based on Zhuan Falun and from a scientific perspective. The practitioner also told them that after reading Zhuan Falun, his questions were all answered, such as the principles and meaning of life, and about the divine.

The students also asked about the staged self-immolation incident at Tiananmen Square. The practitioner informed them that Master has clearly stated that suicide is sinful, so no genuine practitioner would harm themselves like this. The practitioner also informed them that this self-immolation incident was staged and directed by the CCP with the goal of framing Falun Gong. The practitioner then showed them a link to the video, False Fire, which exposes this propaganda. The students said they would watch it.

They then asked about the CCP’s state-sanctioned forced organ harvesting and how practitioners obtained the information. The practitioner informed them that most of the information came from research papers and articles that are publicly available, and that there have also been third party investigations. During the conversation, one of the students said multiple times, “The CCP is so evil,” and appeared shocked by the regime’s cruelty. The practitioner also mentioned that since the CCP seized power, it has not stopped persecuting Chinese people, from the Cultural Revolution and June 4 massacre, to the persecution of Falun Gong. The students both agreed that what the practitioner said made a lot of sense, and that they had never considered things from this perspective.

The practitioner also shared that he was able to provide such clear explanations due to reading Zhuan Falun. The two students said they had benefited greatly from this conversation and would like to read Zhuan Falun as well.
