Why Are the Police Still Able to Persecute Practitioners in My Area?

(Minghui.org) Recently, the police went door to door to harass the practitioners in my area. They entered the practitioners’ homes and took pictures of them against their will. When practitioners were seen reading Falun Dafa books, the officers took the books away.

I have been wondering, as we move toward the end of the Fa rectification, why such interference still continues in our area. I think we ought to take a look within and ask ourselves, “Have we really improved our understandings of the teachings after all these years? Are we too comfortable at the level of wanting to stay healthy and being a good person? How many of our fundamental notions have we changed?”

Master has said:

“If upon encountering trying circumstances your thinking can be truly righteous, then, when faced with the evil’s persecution and when faced with interference, just one sentence of yours fortified with steadfast righteous thoughts can instantly make the evil disintegrate (applause), and it will make those who are being used by the evil turn and flee, it will make the evil’s persecution of you dissolve, and it will make the evil’s interfering with you disappear without a trace. One thought born of righteous faith is all it takes. And whoever can hold firm to that righteous thought and go the distance will become a magnificent god forged by Dafa.” (“Teaching the Fa at the Western U.S. International Fa Conference,” Collected Teachings Given Around the World Volume VII)

If our righteous thoughts are ample, why weren’t we able to stop the police? Some of us even contemplated moving temporarily to hide for a while. Wanting to hide means that we’ve accepted the evil's arrangement, and we still think in a way that the old forces want us to.

Human beings are weak and fragile, so it was beings from the old universe backing and controlling the police's actions. Master told us:

“So you shouldn’t always fix your gaze on the person at the surface. Only when you deal with the factors behind the scenes will you manage to resolve the problem at the root. Only then will you cause a given situation, or that person, to change.” (“20th Anniversary Fa Teaching,” Collected Teachings Given Around the World Volume XI)

“...one brings trouble to oneself because one’s personal values are not correct and one’s mind is not righteous.” (Lecture Three, Zhuan Falun)

Though the old forces still exist, if we don’t have attachments, there is not much the old forces can do to us. The reason that they can is what we have to figure out by searching within. Maybe we are still afraid, still haunted by the persecution, still wanting to hide from the authorities? Perhaps we are still minding our own business and have not formed a unified, indestructible body?

The above is my current understanding. Please kindly point out anything not in line with the Fa teachings.
