(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 27 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Lin Jinli was arrested in Yangzhou City, Jiangsu Province, on August 10, 2025, while on vacation with her daughter. She has been detained in Yangzhou since and was scheduled to stand trial on January 27, 2026.
2. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] More Than Ten Practitioners and Their Family Members Arrested
More than ten Falun Gong practitioners, in their 60s, 70s, and 80s, and some of their family members were arrested around 6 a.m. on January 13, 2025, and their homes were ransacked. The police confiscated their Falun Gong books, photos of Falun Gong’s founder, and cash.
The practitioners were interrogated, and some of the older practitioners were released at around 10 p.m.
Ms. Chen Fu’ai was harassed by Jinhaitan Border Police Station officers around January 10, 2026. They took photos of her.
Mr. Peng Yunchang was also harassed at home on January 15, 2026, by officers from the Jinhaitan Border Police Station. They pretended to be electricians and tricked him into opening the door. They searched his home without showing their IDs. They confiscated his Falun Gong books, computer, and printer. His current whereabouts are unknown.
Ms. Song Yuqiu was harassed by officers from the Dongjiang Town Police Station, who ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books and audio tapes of the founder’s lectures. Ms. Song was taken to the police station and released in the afternoon.
Ms. Huang Zuolan was arrested at home on January 19, 2026, by officers from the Daxindian Town Police Station. They accused her of printing and distributing Falun Gong information materials. She was given 12 days at the Penglai District Lockup.
Ms. Sun Shuyun was arrested on January 13, 2026, by officers from the Wutu Police Station. They ransacked her place and confiscated calendars containing information about Falun Gong.
Both Ms. Sun and her husband were taken to the police station. Her husband was handcuffed and charged with assaulting police officers. They were released the next day.
The police went to Ms. Zheng Guangzhen’s home on January 7 and 16, 2026, to harass her. She wasn’t home either time.
Ms. Liu Shuhua and Ms. Bai Yun were arrested on January 16, 2026. The police ransacked their homes and confiscated two laptop computers, Falun Gong books, photos of the founder of Falun Gong, and media players.
Mr. Leng Zhenhui was arrested on October 15, 2025, by officers from the Taohaotai Township Police Station and the Qianguo County Police Department. He is currently being held in the Guaibodian Detention Center awaiting trial.
The Wanghua District Court scheduled a second trial for ten practitioners on January 27, 2026. The practitioners include Mr. Wang Nanfang, Mr. Zhou Shuyou, Mr. Wang Zexing, Mr. Wang Guozhong, Mr. Liu Haitao, Ms. Hu Fengju, Ms. Lai Chunlian, Ms. Hu Mingli, Ms. Li Shuqin, and Ms. Huang Yuping.
Mr. Sun Jianfeng was arrested in December 2018, and was later sentenced to six years and four months in prison. He was released in April 2025.
Ms. Wang Xiaomei, an elementary school teacher, was arrested on December 9, 2025. The procuratorate has returned her case to the police, citing insufficient evidence.
