(Minghui.org) The Shen Yun Touring Company presented five performances at the Grand Theatre in Łódź in Poland’s Łódź from January 9–12, 2026. Tickets for the performances sold out in advance. Theatergoers from across the country attended the performances.

A particularly striking phenomenon during the performances was the surge in demand for the book Zhuan Falun, the main book of Falun Dafa. Many audience members purchased the books even before watching the performance.

Arkadiusz Będowski, who came from a nearby town, said, “I bought the book out of curiosity, to delve deeper into the subject, because it is fascinating.” He added, “These are old, traditional things, but they interest me.”

Henryk Borko, who came from Warsaw, said, “I wasn’t able to get tickets either in Toruń or in Lublin, but I managed to get them in Łódź.” He added, “I hope there are books here that contain wisdom—written by people who want to pass something on to someone else—something timeless. And I hope this book will be like that too.”

“Understand the Dancers’ Inner Essence”

Agnieszka Lechocińska, the chorus director at the Grand Theatre in Łódź, saw Shen Yun on the evening of January 12. She purchased a copy of Zhuan Falun after the performance.

“Because I want to understand the dancers’ inner essence from a spiritual perspective. What gave them energy and strength,” she said.

“This Meant a Lot to Me”

Colonel Maciej Krystek, a counter-terrorism instructor, saw Shen Yun on the afternoon of January 11. This was his third time seeing Shen Yun.

“I really cherish this kind of atmosphere (of Shen Yun) and every moment spent in this friendly environment,” he said.

“Simply put, I was full of tears. This meant a lot to me,” he said.

Mr. Krystek also bought a copy of Zhuan Falun. “I want to fill the gap in this area,” he said.

“Leave This Performance in a Better Place”

Maciej Borkiewicz, an entrepreneur, saw Shen Yun with his wife Lidia on the evening of January 9. They purchased a copy of Zhuan Falun during intermission.

“By guiding your life with goodness, this goodness will surely return to us. This goodness will surely overcome the evil that unfortunately surrounds us. And I think that through this message that you have shared with us here, all the people who were at this show will leave this performance in a better place,” said Mr. Borkiewicz.

“True Virtue”

Grzegorz Powalski, an international company’s brand promotion and media relations manager for Central and Eastern Europe, saw Shen Yun with his wife on the evening of January 9. They purchased a copy of Zhuan Falun after the performance.

“The entire performance presented true virtue. It also presented a certain spiritual level, a kind of connection with divinity and divine beings,” he said.

“The performance showed a different culture, a culture that is different from the modern appearance and demonstrated the ancient Chinese styles.

“We bought the book because we want to truly learn about the aspects behind the scenes,” he said.

“Gain a Deeper Understanding”

Piotr Osowiec, a hotel management expert, orator, and consulting firm owner, Mariusz Maciejewski, real estate company owner, and their wives saw Shen Yun on the evening of January 12.

“The performance was excellent. We liked it very much and now have a deeper understanding of Chinese culture,” Mr. Osowiec said.

“Chinese culture itself, religious faiths, spiritual beliefs, and traditions rarely get brought up [today]. This performance presented these very well, as well as the real China from a cultural angle. Very beautiful,” he said.

Mr. Osowiec, who had purchased a copy of Zhuan Falun before the performance, said, “I’m fascinated by Chinese culture, which the performance we just saw presented. So I will definitely carefully read this book to learn more and gain a deeper understanding of the background of these stories,” he said.

Provincial Governor Honors Shen Yun

Łódź is Poland’s third-largest city and the capital of Łódź Voivodeship. The provincial governor Joanna Skrzydlewska awarded Shen Yun “Patronat Honorowy” (“Honorary Patronage”), a high distinction in Poland reserved for the most important cultural events that demonstrate outstanding artistic quality, meticulous organization, and wide public recognition.

The certificate states: “Honorary Patronage—Shen Yun 2026: China Before Communism.”
