Attorney Deirdre Goldfarb saw Shen Yun in Washington, DC, on January 11.
“Everything was eye-opening,” she said. “This was like a cultural revelation.”
“For me, Shen Yun was like a comprehensive introduction to Chinese culture and revealed a lot of things that I did not know before,” she said.

Congresswoman Julie Fedorchak, who represents North Dakota, and her husband Mike saw Shen Yun in Washington, DC, on January 8.
“It’s beautiful. I’m amazed at their athleticism, and the costumes are gorgeous. I think it’s just awesome. I’m enjoying it,” Rep. Fedorchak said.
The production is “excellent, very good quality. It’s very entertaining and fun to watch,” she said.
“I definitely appreciate the [message] and the heart and soul behind it,” she said.
Reflecting on the artists’ mission to bring back China’s 5,000 years of traditional culture and values, Rep. Fedorchak said she is a big supporter of those who are “investing in and saving and passing on their cultural traditions.”
“I think it’s really important. So, I admire the fact that [Shen Yun] is doing that,” she added. “It’s a beautiful show, and I think more people should come and watch it and learn more about this organization and their mission.”
“I would definitely encourage my colleagues to come,” she said.
Didier Speybrouck (Screenshot courtesy NTD TV)
Didier Speybrouck, a member of the Ordre national du Mérite (National Order of Merit) and a former administrator at the Ministry of National Education, saw Shen Yun in Toulon, France, on January 6.
“Absolutely divine – that’s the right word,” said Mr. Speybrouck. “The word ‘divine’ perfectly describes everything you do on the screen. It perfectly represents China!”
According to him, Shen Yun conveys “traditional values that must be preserved and exported, especially to younger generations, to keep these values alive.”
To Mr. Speybrouck, Shen Yun also highlights “the notion of group, of cohesion, of solidarity, and that we must all be united in the world to achieve something, to reach a result.”
“What is lacking today is this cohesion, this understanding of others,” he said. “These important aspects are developed by Shen Yun: solidarity, cohesion, and understanding of others.”
Jason Jones (Screenshot courtesy NTD TV)
Jason Jones, a writer and filmmaker, saw Shen Yun in San Antonio, Texas, on January 11. He had seen Shen Yun before.
“I’ve seen Shen Yun in Washington, DC. I’ve seen Shen Yun in New York City. I’ve seen Shen Yun in Paris. And now I’ve seen Shen Yun in San Antonio, Texas,” he said.
“My wife is an American-born Chinese. So I wanted my daughters to see their traditional culture,” said Mr. Jones, who also runs a human rights organization.
“This is the most beautiful show, and it’s just important for my children to see this. And one day they’ll get to go back to a free China, and that means a lot to me,” he said.
“I saw wherever Shen Yun goes, whether it’s Paris or Milan or Berlin, China is alive. So you say this is China before communism, but it’s actually China now because where you are, China lives. And it’s also China after communism, because one day we’re going to see a free, beautiful, vibrant China again,” he said.
“It was very obvious that this is a beautiful rescue of a civilization that’s been ravaged by a brutal ideology,” Mr. Jones added.
“First, you had the Cultural Revolution, which was a war on ancestors. Then you had the one-child policy, which is a war on your own descendants. Now you have organ harvesting, which is cannibalism.
“The CCP will collapse. And that is what I think makes Falun Dafa practitioners and Shen Yun, specifically, so important,” he said.
Mr. Jones compared Shen Yun to the story of Noah’s Ark.
“This was like Noah’s ark. And all of the civilization has been put on this ark. And one day, the ark will land where it came from. And then all of the beautiful life on that ark will flow out into the land, and we’ll see a revitalization. So I think everyone can feel the CCP’s days are numbered,” he said.
“One of my daughters is a dancer, and so I brought two of my daughters,” Mr. Jones said. “When you look at the dancers, how powerful they are, how delicate they are, how they’re really the most beautiful performers in the world.”
As a filmmaker, Mr. Jones found what he values in a good production in Shen Yun.“The production value is amazing, but as a producer, I look for story. And to me—story is the most important. And what really is captivating is how each year you find all of these beautiful stories. You have all this civilization treasure that you can reach into and draw from and share. That’s what you do, and it’s quite beautiful,” Mr. Jones said.

“For us, the spiritual inspiration that the performance conveys is remarkable. We are repeatedly moved by the beautiful message it delivers. The performance fosters inner spirituality and noble qualities in people and shares this truth with the whole world. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

Marcin Słomski, a law firm founder, and Anna Mec-Słomska, a doctor, saw Shen Yun in Łódź on January 9.
“It was not just an ordinary dance performance—it also carried a message. The fundamental message was respect for tradition, being good, spreading goodness among people, and being kind to others. Artistically, it was very positive—colorful and full of energy. I believe the message conveyed by the performance is important for every person in the world,” said Mr. Słomski.
“I was amazed that, from the perspective of references to the Creator, to God, it is very closely connected to Christianity—the acceptance of the concept of one God who is goodness itself and who sets an example of how one should treat other people and the world as a whole.
“The performance conveys a message of goodness, kindness, and love. Hopefully, when people watch it, they will reflect on their own behavior and stop chasing money and power just to achieve something. […] Instead, they may notice other people, help them, and talk to them,” he said.
Speaking about Shen Yun’s mission to revive traditional culture, he said: “Tradition is the foundation of our existence and must be cultivated.” He noted: “Chinese tradition is inspiring—it references Buddhism and Confucianism. It is truly something beautiful.”
Mr. Słomski shared details he particularly enjoyed, including the celestial atmosphere and the peacock dance: “The moment I really loved was when the mist appeared—it was about the peacock paradise. When the mist flowed down over the orchestra, it looked incredible, as if clouds were actually descending from the stage. It was beautiful.”
He also praised the vocal performances: “I was particularly struck by the soprano singer. [She had] a very beautiful, powerful voice—one must admit, [that was artistically on] a very high level. I really liked it.”
The music of the Chinese two-stringed instrument erhu left a deep impression on him: “I really liked the way it was played. I was surprised that it turned out so wonderfully. It was extremely beautiful.” Then he added: “I was amazed that such virtuosity is possible on that kind of instrument.”
As Shen Yun celebrates its 20th anniversary, Mr. Słomski said he wished to convey this message to the artists: “I would like to thank you for this beautiful performance. I am honored to have been here and to watch it. I hope you continue to grow and convey your message—perhaps influencing people and their approach to life and the world. Showing that it is not only speed, media, and mobile phones that matter, but human relationships and kindness. I wish you all the very best.”

Paola Dallantonia, owner of a treatment clinic, saw Shen Yun in Udine on January 8.
“I was deeply moved by the performance. I truly witnessed ‘perfection.’ I will keep saying that. The word ‘perfection’ comes from my heart. Those dance movements were so perfect,” she said.
“We long for and are increasingly aware of the fact that everyone has divinity. There is divine light in each of our hearts. And the purpose for people to come to this world is to reconnect with this ‘divine light.’”
Giuseppe Signorelli (Screenshot courtesy NTD TV)
Giuseppe Signorelli, a radio show host and musician, saw Shen Yun in Udine on January 7.
“The music is beautiful. Besides, I already love classical Chinese music a lot. I really like Chinese musical instruments as well, and this fusion between traditional Western and Chinese instruments, in my opinion, is very harmonious, very beautiful, and very well achieved,” he said.
“I think that in times like these, a show of this kind truly does a lot of good for the soul and the spirit. I found so much peace, so much poetry, so much gracefulness, and there is such a great need for it,” Mr. Signorelli said.
