(Minghui.org) The Great New York State Fair is held in Syracuse for 13 days, from August 20 to September 1, 2025. It's the largest state-level fair and has been held annually for 184 years. The popular event attracts people from around the nation as well as overseas tourists. The New York Falun Dafa Association was invited to participate in the fair’s Asian Village and demonstrate the exercises. Practitioners were interviewed twice by a local television station.
The Great New York State Fair is held in Syracuse from August 20 to September 1, 2025.
The fair hosts more than a hundred booths, including live shows, food tastings, horse racing, amusement attractions, as well as cultural and dance performances from various ethnic groups, and offers visitors a rich and diverse cultural experience.
New York’s governor and the state government initiated the Asian Village in 2023. Since its debut, it has become a major highlight of the fair. Through music, dance, traditional cuisine, and special events, the exhibition area showcases the culture and history of Chinese-Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders.
Falun Dafa practitioners from Upstate New York were interviewed by WSYR-TV Channel 9 Bridge Street, a local ABC affiliate. Practitioners were also invited to demonstrate the Falun Dafa exercises.

WSYR-TV, a local news station, posted an article on its website: “Try Falun Dafa meditation at the Asian Village. The Fair can be overwhelming at times, sure, but there really is something for everyone. There’s a way to visit cultures from across the world, too. That includes Falun Dafa meditation over at the Asian Village.”
The hostess said practitioners hope more people learn the true meaning of meditation, and “That it can be done by anyone, and it’s not hard to learn.”

The television station invited practitioners to give a second live interview two days later. Two television hosts were interested in learning the exercises. They said they usually wake up around 2 a.m. and experience mental stress and physical challenges. They interviewed two practitioners who told them the benefits of practicing Falun Dafa, and the guiding principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. They explained that the practice originated in China and is now practiced in more than 100 countries, and the books are translated into more than 50 languages.
The hosts tried the first set of exercises, “Buddha Stretching a Thousand Arms.” When both of them did the movement “Hands Pointing to Heaven and Earth”, with the male host extending his left hand while the female host extending her right, their harmonious coordination made the movements graceful, and the scene was especially beautiful. They asked about the mind and body benefits of doing the exercises. The hosts were very enthusiastic throughout the interview.

When Asian Village became part of the fair in 2023, students from the Fei Tian Academy performed a Chinese classical dance, allowing attendees to experience the beauty of authentic traditional Chinese art.
During Syracuse’s big parade, the host introduced Falun Dafa and added, “Practitioners look very peaceful and the movements very graceful. I hope I can learn and practice Falun Dafa with them.”
Each year, the Asian Village at the New York State Fair gives attendees and television viewers the opportunity to learn about Falun Dafa.
