(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 7 cities or counties in 4 provinces, where at least 17 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
On July 21 and July 22, 2025, the local police harassed several groups of practitioners when they were studying Falun Gong books together. The practitioners’ Falun Gong books and other Falun Gong-related items were confiscated.
At least 12 practitioners were arrested, including Zeng Xiyin, Yan Xilan, Liu Baiying, Liu Chunqin, Liu Xueqin, Yi Dijun, Li Qingjun, Zheng Qiong, Liu Rongpei, Zhou, Zhao, and Xiong.
Ms. Yuan Hongying, 70, was arrested by Harbin Railway Police Station officers on February 5, 2025. She was sentenced to three years in prison by the Harbin Railway Court in mid-July 2025.
Ms. Su Xiurong was arrested on January 27, 2025, for talking to people about Falun Gong. She has been held at a local detention center since.
Ms. Fang Caixia was arrested on June 23, 2025. She was issued a formal arrest warrant on July 30.
Ms. Ren Guangmei, 80, was harassed at home on July 17, 2025 by Tumu Police Station officers. Her several Falun Gong books and five audio players were confiscated.
Ms. Li Meiqin was arrested and given seven days of administrative detention. She was released on July 25, 2025.
Guards at Shandong Province Prison instigated inmates to torture practitioners who remain firm in their belief. The inmates verbally abused and beat practitioners at will, including those in their 70s and 80s, and those who have become incapacitated due to prior abuse.
The practitioners are forced to get up at 5 a.m. and are not allowed to go to bed until 11 p.m. The inmates also forced practitioners to sit on hard benches for up to 19 hours straight, and some practitioners suffered pressure ulcers and bleeding after prolonged sitting. Practitioners were also restricted from using the toilet or drinking water.
