(Minghui.org) As the World Falun Dafa Day, May 13, 2025, approached, Falun Gong practitioners from Southern Taiwan, which includes Kaohsiung City and Pingtung City, gathered at Millennium Park in downtown Pingtung on May 11 to celebrate the 33rd anniversary of the spread of Falun Dafa worldwide, as well as the birthday of the founder of Falun Dafa, Mr. Li Hongzhi. The celebration began with practitioners chanting “Happy Birthday, Master” as part of the parade. They then formed the shape of “513” to express their gratitude to Master.

Politicians from Pingtung, including Legislative Councilor Chung Chia-bin, Pingtung County Legislator Hung Ming-jiang, and Mr. Lee Ching-sheng, a director of a non-profit organization and former County Legislator, attended the celebration and wished Master Li a Happy Birthday.

Despite the drizzle during the parade, many tourists, pedestrians and vehicles were drawn in by the music from the Tianguo Marching Band and the rhythm of the waist-drumming team. Practitioners demonstrated Falun Dafa exercises and marched with banners that read “Celebrate 513 World Falun Dafa Day,” “Falun Dafa is Good,” and “Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance is Good,” conveying the positive message of Dafa.

Politicians Praise Dafa

Mr. Chung Chia-bin, a Legislative Councilor, acknowledged the principles of Falun Dafa, stating, “Truthfulness-Compassion and-Forbearance are universal values, just as how my mother taught us.” He emphasized, “If everyone follow these values, our society will certainly be more harmonious and the world will improve.”

He called the passing of the “Falun Gong Protection Act” and the “Stop Forced Organ Harvesting Act” by the U.S. House of Representatives an assertion of justice. He congratulated Master Li and Falun Gong practitioners on this special occasion.

Mr. Hung Ming-jiang, a legislator from Pingtung County and a long-term supporter of Falun Gong practitioners, recalled witnessing the power of Falun Dafa. During his tenure as mayor of Chaochou, he observed that after the Tianguo Marching Band paraded the streets, the environment became peaceful. Policies that were previously difficult to implement suddenly progressed rapidly, with the implementation rate exceeding eighty percent.

He stated, “Falun Gong is a blessing for all people, like a positive force in the darkness.” He was deeply moved to see practitioners gathering in the rain for the celebration. He wished the founder of Falun Gong, Mr. Li, a Happy Birthday.

Mr. Lee Ching-sheng, a director of a non-profit organization, remarked, “The principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance deserve to be promoted because they relate to personal conduct, family relationships, and husband-wife relationships, and so on. Since we are all part of a family, we should all be kind and think more about each other and the family. This way we can learn to tolerate one another. If everyone practiced Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, society would definitely be better off.” He expressed his appreciation to Mr. Li for teaching Falun Dafa.

Cheng Wen-ke, the chief of Sanguang Village in Chaochou, also wished Mr. Li a Happy Birthday. He said, “During the days when Master Li first introduced Falun Gong to the public, I heard that many people in mainland China had benefited. Not only did Falun Gong encourage people to be good, it also had miraculous effects on healing and health, which made it popular. The practitioners in our village are all very kind and warm-hearted. Not only did they actively promote traditional art and culture, but also enthusiastically assisted in various community services.”

He added, “We have a good impression of Falun Gong practitioners because they make substantial contributions to society.”

Onlookers Were Impressed

Ms. Wong, while passing through Millennium Park, stopped to watch the parade, “It’s shocking! It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a large parade like this, so many people, well-organized and full of positive energy. People look peaceful. You can tell they have faith.”

She continued, “Falun Gong practitioners impressed me with their good quality. They are very humble and kind, with a solemn and pious power. Nowadays, people’s minds are not at ease, especially me, as I am taking care of my husband who is sick and hospitalized. Watching them today made me feel uplifted.”

Mr. Hsieh and Mr. Wu were among the spectators, drawn in by the powerful and resounding music. Mr. Hsieh was surprised to see such a large Falun Gong group for the first time! He mentioned that he usually saw about ten Falun Gong practitioners doing exercises in the park. He commented that the practitioners seemed to be in high spirits and very self-disciplined.

Mr. Wu was also impressed. He noted how well-dressed and energetic the whole group was. When he learned they were also celebrating Mr. Li’s birthday, he immediately wished Mr Li a Happy Birthday. He also encouraged practitioners to persevere in their efforts.
