Queensland, Australia: Rally Marks Anniversary of April 25 Appeal and Exposes the Chinese Communist Party’s Persecution

April 27, 2025 |   By Minghui correspondents in Queensland

(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners in Queensland, Australia held an event at Brisbane Square to commemorate the 26th anniversary of the April 25 appeal. They also raised awareness of the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution of Falun Gong in China.

Falun Gong practitioners held an event to commemorate the 26th anniversary of the April 25 Appeal.

Many people learned about Falun Gong and the CCP’s persecution for the first time during the event. One person said, “Although you suffer the brutal persecution, you remain peaceful and rational. The CCP’s persecution is a state crime against humanity and must stop.”

People learn about Falun Gong and sign the petition calling to stop the CCP’s brutality. Some learned the Falun Gong exercises.

Freedom of Belief Is a Basic Right

Fendy signed the petition and said he plans to tell his friends and family about the persecution.

Fendy, who received a bachelor’s degree in English literature in Indonesia, was interested in the practitioners’ exercise demonstration and talked at length with practitioners. He said, “The Falun Gong meditation looks relaxed and peaceful. I strongly agree with Falun Gong’s principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance.”

He said he’s been looking for a good meditation method. After seeing the exercise demonstration, he said he would visit the Falun Gong website to learn more.

“Freedom of belief is a basic human right and must not be violated,” Fendy said after learning about the CCP’s persecution. “Falun Gong follows the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. The exercises are so nice, but the CCP brutally suppresses Falun Gong. This is a persecution of human rights. It is unacceptable and must stop.”

He signed the petition and said he would tell more people about the spiritual practice in order to help stop the CCP’s persecution.

The CCP’s Persecution Is a Crime Against Humanity

Martin and his sister Suzanne immigrated to Australia from the Netherlands many years ago. Martin, a photojournalist, has traveled to China. Suzanne is a department manager of a supermarket and she’s also been to China.

Suzanne said, “I didn’t expect Falun Gong to be treated so unfairly in China, but you are very peaceful. I can feel the kindness of Falun Gong practitioners.”

Martin has read a lot of information about China in order to go to China for his job. He said, “China is big, beautiful, has a long history, and the Chinese people are very friendly. But the CCP has always had a bad reputation internationally, especially in terms of human rights violations.”

After viewing the photo display about the April 25 Appeal, Martin said, “Falun Gong practitioners are very peaceful. The principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance are very good and should be the norm for everyone and the entire society. Although you’ve suffered cruel persecution, you are still peaceful and rational, which is amazing. The CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong is a state crime and an atrocity against humanity. It must be stopped immediately.”

Martin and Suzanne signed the petition and hoped that more people would learn about and support Falun Gong. They wished practitioners good luck.

Samuel Ebner likes Falun Gong.

Samuel Ebner, who works at a housekeeping company, read the banners and watched practitioners do the exercises. He listened to the speeches and said, “I didn’t know about Falun Gong, and I didn’t know it was so good and so popular in China. The CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong is shocking.”

“I think the government should not do this. The persecution of peaceful Falun Gong practitioners is destroying everyone’s right to express themselves,” Samuel said.

He said he hopes that everyone can understand that, “cultivation, meditation, and the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance are so wonderful.”

Noel Bulner condemns the persecution.

After learning about the April 25 Appeal and the CCP’s brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners for upholding their beliefs, Noel Bulner said he was shocked. “It’s horrible and cruel,” he said. “I think more people in the world should know about the CCP’s brutal persecution and boycott the CCP. I hope your efforts are successful.”
