(Minghui.org) Mayor Donna Dodgen of Sequin, Texas issued a proclamation on September 30, 2025, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Shen Yun Performing Arts. Mayor Dodgen wrote, “Their courage, kindness and forbearance are remarkable and commendable, and are a great treasure to humankind.”

The Proclamation states,

“Shen Yun 20th Anniversary Tour

“Whereas, Shen Yun Performing Arts is a non-profit dance and music company, and has performed in Texas cities including Greater Houston, DFW, Austin, San Antonio, El Paso, Amarillo, Lubbock, Midland, Longview, Beaumont, College Station, and McAllen; and

“Whereas, For the past two decades, Shen Yun has captivated audiences across the globe with breathtaking performances that beautifully display the essence of 5,000 years of divinely-inspired Chinese culture; and

“Whereas, Shen Yun performances inspire, educate, uplift, and touch audience members from all walks of life, and the universal values Shen Yun embraces - honor, loyalty, kindness, tolerance, and filial piety-resonate deeply in the world today; and

“Whereas, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) not only persecutes Falun Dafa but has also launched a transnational campaign of repression against Shen Yun, using tactics like bomb threats, spreading disinformation, and lawfare; and

“Whereas, facing the repression and threats, Shen Yun artists continued to give their all, inspire their audiences, and bring hope to the world. Their courage, kindness and forbearance are remarkable and commendable, and are a great treasure to humankind; and

Therefore, I, Donna Dodgen, Mayor of the City of Seguin, hereby proclaim Tuesday, September 30th, 2025 as a day of celebration and recognition of the 20th anniversary tour of Shen Yun Performing Arts in the City of Seguin, Texas.”
