(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 18 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Yanshou County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Yu Guixia and Husband Mr. Wang Kaifa Sentenced to Prison

7. [Linqing City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Yulian Forced to Live Away from Home
8. [Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Chen Guifang Held in Detention Center
9. [Mianyang City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Song Qingxiu’s Home Ransacked
10. [Huangshi City, Hubei Province] Ms. Li Caihua and Ms. Li Ping Arrested
11. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Li Miling and Another Practitioner Arrested

1. [Yanshou County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Yu Guixia and Husband Mr. Wang Kaifa Sentenced to Prison

The lawyer for Ms. Yu Guixia and her husband Mr. Wang Kaifa notified the couple of their prison sentences on January 2, 2025. Ms. Yu was given one year and six months and fined 10,000 yuan. Mr. Wang was sentenced to one year and fined 5,000 yuan.

2. [Huludao City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Yang Jiangwei Faces Second Hearing

Mr. Yang Jiangwei was scheduled to appear in the Lianshan District Court for a second time at 9:30 a.m. on January 16, 2025.

3. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Miao Xinshan Detained

Mr. Miao Xinshan, 78, from Yunjialing Village, Tushan Township, Wu’an City, was arrested at home by Tushan Township Police Station officers on the morning of January 1, 2025. They ransacked his home and storage room. The police released him that evening but took him back into custody on the afternoon of January 6. He is still detained.

4. [Huizhou City, Guangdong Province] Mr. He Jingru Arrested

Mr. He Jingru, 65, from Huidong County, was arrested again by officers from Huidong County Domestic Security Division and 610 Office in late December 2024. He is being held in Huizhou Mental Hospital.

5. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Mr. Wu Junfeng Arrested

Mr. Wu Junfeng was arrested by Yaoshan Police Station officers on September 14, 2024. He was held in the Jinan City Detention Center. The Tianqiao District Procuratorate recently returned his case to the Yaoshan Police Station.

6. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Liu Guangjuan Sentenced to Prison and Three Others Harassed

Ms. Liu Guangjuan was arrested by Wanlong Township Police Station officers in June 2024 and sentenced to one and a half years a few months later.

In addition to Ms. Liu, three other local practitioners were harassed.

Mr. Li Shutao had his home ransacked around November 2024. The police didn’t find any Falun Gong materials and left.

Mr. Liu Xiaojun and Mr. Wang Chunlai were also harassed. Mr. Wang’s Falun Gong books and photos of the founder of Falun Gong were confiscated and he was ordered to sign a statement to renounce Falun Gong.

7. [Linqing City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Yulian Forced to Live Away from Home

Ms. Liu Yulian, 80, from Panpengdian Village was frequently harassed by officers from Bachalu Town Police Station in the second half of 2024. She was forced to live away from home in the winter to hide from them.

8. [Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Chen Guifang Held in Detention Center

Ms. Chen Guifang, 68, was reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was arrested and taken to Zhenjiang City Detention Center on June 25, 2024, and been held there ever since.

9. [Mianyang City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Song Qingxiu’s Home Ransacked

Several plainclothes officers broke into Ms. Song Qingxiu’s home on the morning of September 27, 2024. They turned her home upside down, confiscating all her Falun Gong books, over 20 Falun Gong brochures, and a laptop.

Ms. Song and her guest, Ms. Wang Xiuying, were taken to the police station for interrogation. While Ms. Wang was released in the afternoon, Ms. Song was ordered to fingerprint more than ten documents and be photographed. The police accused her of distributing Falun Gong brochures and asked her who gave her the materials and whose laptop it was. She was under tremendous pressure.

10. [Huangshi City, Hubei Province] Ms. Li Caihua and Ms. Li Ping Arrested

Ms. Li Caihua and Ms. Li Ping were arrested after being reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong in Daye City. They were detained for 15 days and released on January 9, 2025.

11. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Li Miling and Another Practitioner Arrested

Ms. Li Miling from Linjiang Township and another female practitioner were arrested and detained for 15 days. They were released on December 3, 2024.
