(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 5 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 10 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

1. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Jiang Lili, 76, and two other elderly practitioners – Ms. Chen and school principal Zhou from Wuchang District, were arrested by officers from the Hualou Street Police Station, Jianghan District on the morning of August 21, 2024, when they were talking to people about Falun Gong on Yanzhi Road in Wuchang District. 

That same day, the officers notified the Xujiapeng Sub-district Administration Office in Wuchang District to take the three practitioners back. While the other two practitioners were released, Ms. Jiang was taken to Baishazhou Brainwashing Center by the Xujiapeng Sub-district Administration Office and Wuchang District 610 Office.

2. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhao Li Arrested

Ms. Zhao Li from the Minjiang Residential Community, Nangang District, was taken away by police on August 26, 2024, in a residential community on Gongbin Road. Her current situation is unknown.

3. [Leshan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Xu Zhiying Faces Trial

Ms. Xu Zhiying is scheduled to appear in the Shizhong District Court on September 5, 2024.

4. [Lishui City, Zhejiang Province] Mr. Hua Jianhao Released From Prison

Mr. Hua Jianhao, a 65-year-old doctor who runs an herbal medicine store in Longquan City, was arrested on February 25, 2023 by officers from the Longquan City Domestic Security Division. His home was ransacked. The Liandu District Court later sentenced him to one and a half years. He was released on August 24, 2024.

5. [Baishan City, Jilin Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Police officers from Jiangyuan District arrested Mr. Zhang Gongchang, Ms. Gong Qiumin, Ms. Kong Qingju, and Ms. Xu Cuihua on July 10, 2024. The officers confiscated Falun Gong books, computers, and other personal items from Ms. Gong and Mr. Zhang’s homes. 

Ms. Xu was released the same day of her arrest due to a physical condition. Ms. Gong, Mr. Zhang and Ms. Kong were held in the Baishan City Detention Center and released on bail after 31 days. Ms. Gong and Mr. Zhang each paid a 10,000-yuan bail bond.
