(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 14 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Mr. Wu Junfeng was arrested at a local practitioner’s home on the morning of September 14, 2024. The police informed his family the next day that his arrest had been approved.
Ms. Fu Xuebing’s family received a notice in the mail from Meijiang District Police Department on September 13, 2024, which stated that Ms. Fu had been placed in criminal detention. She is currently being held in the Chengdong Detention Center in Meixian District.
Mr. Liu Yaping from Pinggu District filed a civil complaint with Pinggu District Court on July 26, 2024, accusing the Pinggu District Education Commission of refusing to pay for his work and illegally dismissing him. More than fifty days have passed and his case remains in the mediation stage.
Mr. Yang Xingrong, 78, from Zhifu District, was arrested on May 9, 2024 by Zhifu District Police Department and Nanshan Road Police Station. His arrest was approved in early August.
Ms. Liu Wenping, who was also arrested on May 9, was tried by the Zhifu District Court on August 16. A lawyer from Beijing entered a not guilty plea for her. No verdict has yet been announced.
Ms. Li Aihua, in her 80s, from Xingfuli, Dagang Oilfield, was arrested by seven officers from the Gangdong Police Station on September 5, 2024, and her home was ransacked. The officers confiscated Falun Gong books, photos of the founder of Falun Gong, and printouts. She was released after being interrogated for over two hours.
Ms. Wang Jinxiu from Bishan District, a retired teacher, has had her pension suspended since October 1999. Every time she went to the relevant department to ask for her pension, her request was rejected.
Zhang Shubei, the chief of Qinggang Sub-district Police Station in Bishan District, is planning to submit Ms. Wang’s case to the procuratorate to seek prosecution of her. Zhang also arranged officers to monitor Ms. Wang’s daily life during anniversaries related to Falun Gong and other major political events. He also frequently sent officers to harass Ms. Wang at home.
Three officers from the Mishan First Police Station went to Ms. Xin Lilian’s home on the morning of September 13, 2024. They knocked on the window and took photos of her without her consent.
Ms. Yan Jinghua, from Qingshanhu District, faced frequent harassment by local police officer Yang Yuwu, after she was released in April 2023, after serving a five-year prison term for practicing Falun Gong. Yang took photos of her and ordered her to go to the police station for questioning. When Ms. Yan refused to cooperate with him, and he harassed Ms. Yan’s son and brother instead. Yang also followed Ms. Yan when she went out, and took photos of her with his cellphone. He threatened to ransack her home if she was found to have printed Falun Gong materials.
The Dadong District Court scheduled a trial for Ms. Zhang Xinyue on September 19, 2024. She refused to appear in court and has been forced to live away from home to avoid further persecution.
Four practitioners from Baliwan Town, Hongan County have been sentenced by the Huanggang Intermediate Court. Ms. Cheng Lianlian was sentenced to eight years in prison, Ms. Lu Hongfang received four years, Ms. Wu Suhua was given three years with four years of probation, and Ms. Zhang Guiying was sentenced to two years with three years of probation.
