(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 8 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 14 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
The cases against Ms. Yang Xiuhua from Fu District and Ms. Sun Yanping from Longjiang County, have been submitted to the Longjiang County Procuratorate.
Ms. Fu Yumei and Ms. Yang Shuzhen were arrested on July 10, 2024. Their homes were ransacked. The police confiscated many Falun Gong books, paper bills printed with information about Falun Gong, and computers.
Ms. Yang has been detained in the Baishan City Detention Center for over two months.
Ms. Fu was released on bail since her husband was incapacitated and needed her care. Her case was recently submitted to the procuratorate. She has been pressed to sign a statement to renounce Falun Gong by the prosecutor.
Ms. Zhang Fengyan was arrested at home by officers from the Changjiu Police Station at 8 a.m. on September 7, 2024. Her home was ransacked. The police confiscated her Falun Gong books, computer and two cell phones.
Ms. Li Junlan from Liuhe County was arrested and is now detained in the Changliu Detention Center.
Ms. Yin Guirong from Lyushunkou District was arrested by officers from the Suishiying Police Station, when she was distributing informational materials about Falun Gong in the Yida Residential Community on the evening of August 30, 2024. She is currently detained in the Dalian City Detention Center.
Ms. Liu Yuxia, 75, was harassed at home by officers from the Minjia Police Station on September 3, 2024. The police took photos of her against her will.
Days later, the police took Ms. Liu to the police station for interrogation. They also confiscated several Falun Gong books, a name list of local residents who had withdrawn from the Chinese Communist Party and its associated affiliations, and a radio. The confiscated items were later returned to Ms. Liu.
Five female practitioners have been released from the Ningxia Women’s Prison this year.
Ms. Huang Yuxia from Zhongwei City was released on April 24, 2024.Ms. Yu Dezhen from Huinong District of Shizuishan City was released on May 24, 2024.Ms. Xu Runye from Inner Mongolia was released on July 16, 2024.Ms. Luo Xinping from Yinchuan City was released on August 17, 2024.Ms. Shan Jining from Yinchuan City was released on August 22, 2024.
Ms. Liang Shaolin from Maoming City was tried by the Liwan District Court of Guangzhou City on the afternoon of September 5, 2024. She was restrained in a wheelchair and pushed to the media room in the detention center for the virtual trial.
