Two Heilongjiang Men Sentenced for Their Shared Faith in Falun Gong

(Minghui.org) The Aimin District Court in Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province, sentenced two Falun Gong practitioners on May 29, 2024, for refusing to give up their faith.

Mr. Zhan Ruihua, who worked for the Hailin City Forest Bureau, was given two and a half years with a 10,000-yuan fine. Hailin City is under the administration of Mudanjiang City.

Mr. Huang Licheng, 69, of Suihua City, Heilongjiang Province, was sentenced to four and a half years and fined 10,000-yuan.

Mr. Zhan was arrested on September 3, 2023. His Falun Gong books, informational materials, printer, and computer were confiscated during the police raid. Around the same time, Mr. Huang lost contact with his family, who suspect he was arrested on the same day as Mr. Zhan.

The men made three appearances in the Aimin District Court, on February 2, March 19, and April 12, 2024. Other details of their prosecution remain to be investigated. It is also unclear where they are being held.

Prior to his latest wrongful conviction, Mr. Huang was previously sentenced to three and a half years with a 5,000-yuan fine following an arrest on January 5, 2017. He was transferred from the Lanxi County Detention Center to the Hulan Prison on September 27, 2017.
