(Minghui.org) From the Falun Dafa teachings, we know that the law that governs the old universe is formation, stasis, degeneration, and destruction.” All lives in the universe abide by this law. Thus, in this process, our earth and even our universe have been destroyed and recreated many times over countless eons of time.

The fundamental characteristic of the old universe is “selfishness.” Master Li created a new universe with the characteristic of being “for others.” While we still cultivate in the old universe and are yet to fully assimilate to the characteristics of the new universe, we still have the attachment of being selfish.

In interfering with Master’s Fa-rectification, the old forces made detailed arrangements for each life based on the laws of the old universe, so we need to closely watch our every thought and motive in doing things and measure them against Dafa to see if we are cultivating ourselves based on the laws of the new universe. If we don’t pay attention, it’s easy for us to return to the mindset of the old universe.

In my cultivation, I found I’m still far from reaching the realm of selflessness. The same is true for many other practitioners. So we must cultivate away the “self” because it is brought about by the selfish nature of the old universe.

I hope every practitioner can cultivate well and do well the three things Master requests of us.
