(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 8 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 38 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Xiao Kun Admitted to Prison
2. [Dongfeng County, Jilin Province] Eight Practitioners Arrested
3. [Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Dong Guilan Arrested
4. [Jiaozhou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Sui Meicai and Ms. Yan Guizhen Harassed
5. [Jingzhou City, Hubei Province] Ms. Dai Tangfu Arrested and Detained
6. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Zhang Jianqiu Officially Arrested
7. [Shenmu City, Shaanxi Province] Mr. Wu Xiaojun Arrested and Detained
8. [Chenzhou City, Hunan Province] Twenty-Three Practitioners and a Family Member Arrested

1. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Xiao Kun Admitted to Prison

Ms. Xiao Kun was sentenced to 3.5 years in prison and fined 10,000 yuan by the Acheng District Court in March 2024. She appealed but the Harbin City Intermediate Court ruled to uphold her original verdict on June 27, 2024. She was taken to the Heilongjiang Province Women’s Prison on August 9, 2024.

2. [Dongfeng County, Jilin Province] Eight Practitioners Arrested

Eight practitioners were arrested during a gathering around 7:30 p.m. on August 8, 2024. They are Yu Liqiu, Yu Ping, Dong Yusu, Yue Chunxia, Dong Yuqin, Dong Yufeng, Zhu Deyan, and Liu Dianzhu. All of their homes were ransacked.

Four of them, including Yu Liqiu, Dong Yusu, Zhu, and Dong Yufeng, were placed under criminal arrest. Yu Ping and Yue were given administrative detention. Dong Yuqin and Liu were released on bail.

3. [Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Dong Guilan Arrested

Ms. Dong Guilan was arrested at home after she returned from a farmers’ market on the morning of August 7, 2024. She was taken to a detention center. Her incapacitated husband is left unattended.

4. [Jiaozhou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Sui Meicai and Ms. Yan Guizhen Harassed

Five officers from the Zhongyun Police Station went to Ms. Sui Meicai’s home in Xidaxing Village on July 31, 2024. They scaled the fence in her neighbor’s home to enter her home. They forcefully drew her blood sample. 

These officers also went to Ms. Yan Cuizhen’s home on the same day and drew her blood.

5. [Jingzhou City, Hubei Province] Ms. Dai Tangfu Arrested and Detained

Ms. Dai Tangfu from Shashi District, 67, was arrested on August 6, 2024. She is currently detained in the Ximen Police Station in Jingzhou District.

6. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Zhang Jianqiu Officially Arrested

Zhang Jianqiu’s family was informed over the phone on the afternoon of August 7, 2024, that Zhang was officially arrested. 

7. [Shenmu City, Shaanxi Province] Mr. Wu Xiaojun Arrested and Detained

Mr. Wu Xiaojun was arrested at his workplace on July 9, 2024, and given 15 days of administrative detention.

8. [Chenzhou City, Hunan Province] Twenty-Three Practitioners and a Family Member Arrested

More than 200 officers from the police force and local community offices in Yongxin County participated in a group arrest and harassment of local Falun Gong practitioners on July 20, 2024.

Eight practitioners were detained for 10 days. They are Huang Chengzhi, Wang Mingduo, Zhang Pohong, Cao Tianjing, Dai Linxiu, Cao Yanfang, Huang Hua, and Liao Tianmei. 

Deng Jiang was given a 10-day detention but was released three days later due to a health condition. Zeng Linjun and Cao Xiaoju were detained for 15 days. Xu Huabin was detained for 5 days.

Seven elderly residents were released on the same day. They are Li Manju, 70, Xu Jiangbin, 70, Cao Guozhu, 80, Xiao Xiangping, 70, Ms. Zhu, Feng Baolan, 70, and Mr. Luo Shiyong (Ms. Li Guifeng’s husband who didn’t practice Falun Gong). 

Five practitioners’ whereabouts are unknown. They are Liu Jinhua, Ms. Li Guifeng, Ms. Li Qun’e and her husband, and Xu Chengyan.
